Alas, OJ, this sounds like the "all WR's ALL the time" time of year again.
When are you guys going to learn. In every draft there are always a couple of WR's who have the size and skills to be recognizably great. The
Beckham, Green, Jones types of guys. The rest are just prospects who have a chance to be either great, good, or mediocre.
Sure you can find great WR's from everywhere in the draft. JE, and AB were 7th and 6th round picks respectively. Baldwin when undreafted. But with the exception of those "elite" prospect, which are out of reach for the Pats, you just have to take your shots and hope for the best.
And while I'm fine with the Pats trading down in the 2nd to #37, I'll be fall off my chair SHOCKED to see a WR come off the board with that pick. (But then again I would have said the same thing if you asked me about a RB at #31 last season.
)
There are plenty of WR's with the talent range of Samuel and Hardman that can be had with the first 100 picks, and I fully expect the Pats to use one of those 6 picks to grab one. But not THAT high.
