Ah, I see. I created this initially as a feature to help out myself and the mods to scan threads and then opened it up for people in the usergroup of people who had donated to support the site (the little red banners under the username) as a "thank you." So that's why you're not seeing it

2 issues:

1.) The preview doesn't show more than maybe 8-9 posts max.

2.) Does not work on iOS using a Safari browser.

But thanks for trying though.....

I'll see if I can get a simulator to try and figure it out. Does it work on your phone?

Shows up for me on the laptop...but not my iPhone.

On your iphone, are you using safari? Mine works on my iPhone in both Safari and Chrome and I have an iPhone 11.

Got you - are you on a Mac? Because it works on my iPhone in Safari. And yes, it loads 8 posts at a time and then loads the next group.

Interesting. And I just ran it through the safari test on a Mac emulator, and the change I just made I think fixed it because it did work there. Although, it's super finicky about where you click the binoculars, but aside from that, appears to be good.

It worked on my old iPod touch, so it should definitely work on your phone. Although try it again and see if the change I made solved it. Again, when you get to the bottom of the first 8 posts, just wait a second and the next group should load. Might take a moment depending on your connection.

Quick note - as we're a few pages into this. Just to reiterate:

I added something on the mod side the last couple of days to be able to scan posts in a thread faster and I've opened it up to supporting members since there have only been some limited perks on upgraded accounts.

You can view those here - as I don't really bring it up because I'm not big on soliciting for them, but I did want to add something to thank the people who do chip in:



As for the feature itself, if you look at the thread list on the main page, hit the little binoculars symbol next to the link. It will open up a slideout-sidebar where you can view every post in the thread, and you can sort them by oldest -> newest, etc.

It loads 8 posts at a time and then loads the next group when you reach the bottom, so just wait a half-second (depending on your connection) for those to load.

You'll see tweaks continue being done (user tags, some other odds, and ends), I got through a bunch last night but I'll continue working on it. Otherwise, after a couple of days of testing, I'm opening it up to the people in that group.

Let me know if you run into anything, and again, as I said in the first post: thank you so much to those who have chipped in - and have continued to chip in - and help out. Given the current state of things, it definitely helps keep the lights on and the bill paid each month. I truly appreciate it.

A couple of updates:

1) Fixed the quoted post block to include the author, and added a link back to the original post.
2) Added a reply button to make replying to a post a little faster.

Updated this a bunch today. Fixed the img/attachment tags, user tags, and some other minor details. Think we're almost there with this. Working on one other thing that @raduray suggested, as I know after there are a lot of posts, it's a little tricky. So I've got an idea of potentially how to deal with that, so I'll obviously update again here as any additional changes are made.

Just finished an update on this feature and it goes out to @raduray. You can now flip pages on bigger threads, and then take advantage of the fact it automatically loads new posts and read them all the way through.

You’ll see a bar at the bottom, and then just move the cursor left or right to change pages.



It was sort of useless on big threads previously, so this hopefully fixes that and makes it better moving forward since it now works a little more as intended.

Now when you scroll, at least the posts are in order.

Still a little wonky on mobile…so it’ll continue to be tweaked.

On mobile, it seems to work a little better if you tap left or right on the bar vs a straight drag and release. Again, I’ll continue working on this, but when you do it that way, they load correctly.

Just adjusted the scroll total to match the board. Makes it a little easier now to cross-reference.
