Tomorrow sees the start of the competition taking place at the Valhalla Golf Club, Louisville, Kentucky. I enjoy the watching the majors and the Ryder Cup but golf in general bores the crap out of me.
Europe are slight favourites in the betting, over here at least, and in looking at the USA team, minus TW unfortunately, I think they are correct.
C'mon Europe!!!!

At the end of the first day of the competition, the USA lead Europe 5.5 to 2.5. Unless the Europeans get their finger out, it could be an embarassing defeat for us.

I live just outside Louisville (maybe 10 miles if that) and I can tell you this is a huge event here, people from all over the world. It is pretty damn cool even though I don't follow golf closely.

I'm glad the event could take place here, I didn't think it would happen after the storm from the Hurricane we got here...81+ mph winds, 500,000+ without power for almost a week...a true disaster.

Anyways, good luck to both teams and I am happy to see this go off without a hitch

Saturday foursomes sees Europe winning 2.5 to 1.5.
USA still up by 7-5 going into the fourballs.
Boo Weekley is the star of the show so far.

2-2 in the afternoon's fourballs, leaving the USA with a 9-7 lead going into tomorrow's singles. I can't see Europe winning the 7pts they would need to retain the cup.
It has been fantastic viewing over the past couple of days, but I'm afraid that at the same time as the golf will be taking place, I'll be watching the Giants taking on the Bengals, then the Eagles taking on the Steelers.

USA wins by 16.5 to 11.5. Well deserved.
Celtic Manor Golf Club in Wales, in 2 years time should see the return of the cup to Europe.
