I had the pleasure of seeing Rush twice almost 30 years ago. Yikes. It hurt to type that.

This is a loss. F-ing cancer.

The Tom Brady of drummers. Great lyricist as well.

    Right there with ya.

Mr Big opened for them when they were on the Presto tour at the old Boston Garden.

Greatest drummer all time hands down. Wrote much of the music and lyrics for the band.

Between this and Ginger Baker passing away in October the world has lost an incredible amount of its drumming greatness.

    RIP

Great, Great drummer. I was not a big fan of rush, Peart was one of the greatest drummers I've ever heard. Very sad hes gone. RIP Neal Pert.

    Yeah...

I'm not sure Subdivisions is the best Rush song, but it is my favorite.

    Yep :(

Pretty awful human being but a transcendental drummer.

The lyrics are other-worldly. I have Rush on shuffle play and Sun and Moon just came on:

In the silence between whisper and shout
The space between wonder and doubt
Those bonfire lights in the mirror of sky
The space between wonder and why
The gap between actor and act
The lens between wishes and fact

played a lot of street hockey to Rush, days kicking back at the beach, high-school parties....this band is epic. There will never be another Peart...

Watching Neal Peart (live) play the drum solo on YYZ was a religious experience.

RIP but know the beat still goes on.

Begin the day with a friendly voice, a companion unobtrusive

Drove 6 hours to see Rush play in Moncton, NB while in high school. They were one of those bands whose music influenced how I tried to live my life at that age and still as an adult. Great lyricist, vocalist, person and the greatest of drummer of all time. Rest in peace.
