Sorry, but I dont care if this is "idiotic" but you see this all to often regarding women and athletes. Over here it's almost a weekely thing to have some women coming out in the papers making allegations towards soccer players.

She's looking for money in my eyes and until I'm proven wrong thats the way it will stay.

Man, what a mess.

I can totally relate to Moss, as I have a soon to be ex-wife who is doing the same thing to me. She twisted my words during a phone conversation then used them to file for a restraining order and criminal charges of threatening to commit a crime.

It was an outright LIE...but she got the restraining order. She then claimed I "violated" it by having my son ask if I could have my sawzall for a project I was working on.

I'm now scheduled for trial this month to answer to these charges, while her lawyer faxes my lawyer one divorce proposal after another claiming my wife will "work with me" to dismiss these charges if we can reach a "settlement" in the divorce that she approves of.

It's friggin' extortion...and it could EASILY happen to ANYONE just like that.

Even Randy Moss

I hope I end up as one of his jurors if she brings charges....

Moss has alot of money, if he were guilty, he would have given her x amounts of dollars befor x time to keep her quite.

Ok, see, that's idiotic. It's not as if Moss has never had issues before.

So you're saying that your incredibly scientific anecdotal evidence should be used to pass a judgement on this case? Couldn't you just as easily say "I've seen it all the time, athlete's hitting their girlfriend." Either way it doesn't change the fact that you, I or nobody here knows anything about this and passing judgement based on what u just said is silly.

Yeah, people looking to extort and take advantage of people in the public eye is like, so rare these days...

You just made me feel better about being a lonely bachelor.

so far the only thing that seems to be verified is that she tried to extort moeny from randy. maybe he pushed her and she fell like a soccer player.

another fact is....we can see what type of person she is. how can a friend of 11 years bring this up now?! and ask for 6 figures? lets say he actually slapped her or something...ok..you are friends...would you do such a thing as she did? her character and motives are what should be questioned.

this is what american society is nowadays.. . you cant pet a kids hair if its not yours....you cant touch anyone. if you get into a fight....someone is going to court

Athletes getting stupid never happens?

Kobe, Warren, and a cast of seemingly thousands pointed out on PFT all say hello.

What he desribed is an extortion attempt. Woman got hurt, then approached Moss demanding money under the threat of making accusations that he hurt her and that she would make the accusations before a big game, he refused, she followed through with that threat. We'll see how it shakes out.

It does sound like extortion. The key for Patriots fans is, extortion based on what?

In other words, you can injure me, and I can blackmail you. Or, I can make stuff up and I can blackmail you.

I don't think it's that big of a deal even if he did "battery" her...unless there are broken bones or black eyes or something. Battery can mean a shove or something.

Not even. A Battery is "an unwanted touching"...so if you poke someone with a finger in the arm or even put your hand on their shoulder, it can be considered a battery.

why does it takes her 1 year to do what she is doing.? The timing can't be right.

Wow. You seem to be of some off the wall thinking. How did he not help himself by saying that: 1) I know her. 2) She WAS a friend. 3) She tried to blackmail me.

Its very rare that you truly know someone when it comes to legal issues. He may not have known she was a gold digger. And, when he found out, he dumped her like a bad habit.

You seem to be doing a LOT of judging of Moss in your statements

Its a non-issue. Especially in light of the fact that no charges have been brought against Moss. None. Zilch. Zero.

He said a lot more than that: "now I think if there was such a thing in the court system as an accident, then that’s what I’m guilty for"; "The only reason I went to Coach was because I knew the magnitude of something like this, how it was going to take off. Like I said, if I’m guilty, I am truly sorry and I am going to stand up for what is right, I really am.” if someone's looking to turn those quotes around, they will. i stick to my guns that he got bad advice about engaging the media. he should have issued a simple three line denial and refusted to answer questions.

No, I'm not judging him. I'm looking at it like the people who will find fault with him. I don't know about you, but I was one of those who wanted to bring him here in 2006 (and got flamed for it BTW). Right now, I really feel bad for the guy and I also happen to feel that he got some bad advice.

I don't think it will be a non-issue for the next several days. it may well all go away if this woman is completely unconvincing, but it's not going away in the short term.

MSNBC is reporting

MSNBC is reporting

Quote:
..after allegedly seriously inurying a woman in Broward County,....She said they have been in an “intimate relationship since 1997” and also said that Moss has guns and has “a drug or alcohol problem.”

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22684201/

wow. she's coming with guns blazing..I can't but wonder if she was seriously injured, and Moss was at fault, why there was no criminal charges?

Oddly I don't see MSNBC reporting any of that on the link you provided.

I think it is a very good thing Moss responded. If kept quite this thing
would most likely be distorted and blown way out proportions.
If I would him though I would just refuse to talk any more about it and just
say
"I've said all I'm going to say about this until the legal thing is resolved. next question. "
