Randy Responds

man, the chargers get to be the next victim twice this year over some retarted crap.

True or not this sucks.

I don't know if this story is true either, it's all speculation at this point but I will say that if anything, this is only going to motivate Moss even more. Expect a monster game from him this Sunday.

Yes, but he was guilty of that. I meant Randy seems to feed of the haters, who will be out in full force. If he is indeed innocent (which at this point only he & she know), I could see him feeding off all the negativity in the press questioning his character and having a huge day.

Or it could have the opposite effect, having a dark cloud over you can make it hard to concentrate.

Have you watched his post-game press conferences? Randy has made it clear, he takes immense pleasure in shutting his critics up.

Only that hasn't been the experience here this year, has it?

He hasn't had any legal "issues" this year. All I'm saying the last time he got into an off field issue, he had a terrible game, he dropped about 5 passes in the end zone (right through his hands) against seattle the sunday night after his traffic incident in MN.

Looks like extortion. As of now, he should just focus on football. Nothing else can happen to him in the next few weeks if he doesn't violate the restraining order.

Moss himself said that knowing that the media thought before the season that he sucked and shouldn't have been acquired by the Pats motivated him tremendously. I'm sure Moss has a lot of friends in that locker room and they'll make sure he doesn't doubt himself as a person or feel down about this. Randy is one game away from the Super Bowl and he knows that. He will block hard and run hard and the Chargers will know he is on the field in that game. I have total confidence in Randy giving everything he has to the team when that ball is kicked off.

Well I hope he's telling the truth, I'm glad that he addressed it right away. If there are no criminal charges, now what?

The hearing on the 28th, that's to determine if there needs to be a permanent restraining order? Does Randy need to be there?

Listen up people, everyone worrying about this, RELAX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The story broke last night, ESPN, SI, FoxSport and NFL.com still have nothing on it. Randy issued a statement and even answered questions concerning this, still NO ONE HAS RUN THE STORY !!!!!!!!!!!

I suspect the story ran in FLA, the majors picked it up, made some phone calls and checked the details of the case and dropped it in the " We'll see if something new comes up " file.

Who are you, a f'n librarian? I was showing the hypocrisy of a Colt troll acting holier than thou toward the Moss situation.

I could be wrong, but Speed's always been a pretty good guy. I don't think his words were holier than though at all. He was pointing out that writing shoving a woman was acceptable while punching her isn't didn't come off that well. He was right. It's never going to look good to write that, no matter how it was meant to come off.

ESPN 2 just had it as breaking news. Said no criminal charges have been filed, Moss denies everything.

It will definitely be on ESPN.com and other places soon enough.

I'm watching all the WEB sites, still nothing on ESPN.com

My point being, it there was anything too this, a big time reporter would already have all the facts and she'd be interviewed and on ESPN by now.

This isn't really a legal issue, though. There have been no charges made against him. Randy was charged with Suspicion of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and marijuana possession when he was booked in 2002, the former being a FELONY! I can understand why he'd have a lack of focus after that incident.

Reiss has some of the Q&A up, but just a small part of it. The interesting thing is he went to Bill and told him that this woman's lawyer was threatening him last Friday that if he didn't pay her a lot of money the were going to go public before the game Saturday. He obviously didn't want to, but was concerned about how this would impact the team. Coach told him to just concentrate on football and take care of this after the season.

I really wish I could agree with you, but, given Moss' extensive statements, SI and ESPN will be running with this both on the web and on the air. remember that they're not CNN which is geared to get breaking news up on their web page in a few minutes. it usually takes them a couple of hours. in any event, moss's quotes will lead NFL Live, Sports Center, PTI, the whole lot, by the middle of the afternoon.

If Moss had just issued a simple three line denial through the Patriots Press Office and then refused to answer questions, the media would have had nothing to report other than an accusation. Now, they have ten or fifteen minutes of his statements to pick through and pick over.

I think that Randy went to the Press because he felt bad and wanted to set things right, but I don't think that will be the effect.

I find this sentence interesting:

"I think that last Friday, this man wanted to come out with it, to try to distract the team and distract me."

It is in Florida. Someone with money on the Jags?

Actually I hope they all run with it, with some luck, it'll be another Duke case situation or like the situation where that woman was suing Bart Star.

The Pats are the best team for handling these situations, everything will be fine. Start worrying about the Chargers and the fact they have a defense all of a sudden !

Honestly, this is a thread for my wife, I'm moving on
