Wow -- 93-percent recommended so far on Rottentomatoes.com! Can't wait to see it! I was worried this one might be the last, but it looks to be a hit. I like Star Trek SO much more than Star Wars. May the rebooted movie series live long and prosper.

I'm not surprised. Justin Lin is a talented, young director. He actually made the "Fast and Furious" series quality movies. It's opened to excellent reviews, as you've noted.

Lin is the main reason I was worried. Star Trek has a ton of complex tradition and mythology behind it I feared he would not understand or would gloss over in favor of action sequences. Happily that seems not to be the case. I've read that the movie comes across like an episode of the original TV series, which is great. Paramount already is planning to bring back Chris Hemsworth (from the first ST movie reboot) to reprise his role as Kirk's father: Fourth ‘Star Trek’ Movie Announced with Chris Pine, Chris Hemsworth

Your fears have been misplaced, grasshopper.
