Can you give a latitude and longitude? And also lay out naked on your roof. This is for a work project. DO NOT ASK ME WHAT THE WORK PROJECT IS.

I'll gladly oblige if you can arrange for Kate Upton to join me on the roof.

Hell, if Kate Upton's involved, I'll gladly come and rescue you from the roof myself, hurricane be damned.

I'd have zero issue with your nakedness as long as we have a gentlemen's agreement not to cross swords.

I was 7 years old living in a second floor tenement when Hurricane Carol hit Newport RI, it hit in the night and scared the shyt out of me to this day.. the house shook, windows blew out, chimneys toppled and the roof leaked..

To this day I have a very healthy respect for hurricanes, and have never been that guy who ventures out immediately prior to or immediately after to see the surf.. they scare the crap out of me.

My thoughts are with all of the folks in Florida as they deal with this storm and then the mess...

Carol. Now, you're showing your age. :D
Not that I'm young. I'm in Maine and my parents still talk about Carol and Edna.

The Florida recovery and cleanup is going to be immense. Anxious to hear from all our Florida posters that they are safe.

A buddy of mine in Tampa was complaining last night that he lost his Giants game due to a power outage (heh...), but seemed ok as of 9:30pm. Nothing since, so I imagine the cell network is down too.

We are having 50 mph and gusts in high 70's for the next few hours (through 4PM). We will have high tide and high storm surge at 12:30 (Hilton Head and Savannah). Thankfully, I live 20 miles from the ocean. Our power has been in and out this morning.

I remember Carol and Diane. Diane was considered a Tropical Storm by the time it was near Mass, Carol was a Cat 1. Knocked down oak trees and limbs in our yard.... I was 10 or 11 back then....

We show our age; those were in the 50's. I vividly remember Donna which last more than 2 weeks.

Hoping that all Patsfans and other residents of the Tampa area have safely ridden out the storm and don't suffer property damage.

Made it through okay. Some flooding on my street and some of my shingles ripped off, but that's it. I made it through with both power and cable so far although the ongoing wind gusts may still take those out. The flooding is substantial around town, though. Jacksonville was getting hammered with a nor'easter for 48 hours before Irma even hit.

Damn. The St. John's River rose and downtown Jacksonville is completely under water. Trying to figure out if my office is flooded.

All good. Power remained on all night but we had a close call with flooding around 10pm. It started coming onto the back porch and we had to rig something up to prevent it from getting inside. Really fun running around in 70+ mph winds in a foot of water with branches and the fence falling down all around you... Luckily the rain stopped before it came into the house and no damage was done that can't be fixed very easily. Already cleaned up the branches, now to wait until the flood water goes down in the back to take care of the fence. Thanks for the thoughts and concerns. Hope you and you're family were ok as well.

When the hurricane stayed inland instead of skirting the coast as predicted barrier island Anna Maria Island was spared high winds and storm surge. Against expected forecast, our FL winter place is OK. Nobody's house lost a roof except the AMI Pier restaurant bar. Folks can return to AMI at 3PM today but no power for a day or 2 more.
