I always wanted to be Starbuck. Flew Colonial Vipers and hooked up with chicks all day.

Speaking of Lorne Green I still watch Bonanza

A lot of flat earthers are also the anti-vax people. The major thing many flat earthers have in common, I read, is that they already believe in grandiose conspiracies. In the Netflix movie, at least one person - and it may have been several - specifically brought up vaccinations as one of the lies told by round earth conspirators.

And yes, they really are that stupid.

on Youtube I watch interviews and other testimonies of "Ex-Flat Earthers" interesting stuff to hear them describe as a pressure filled group think, self "re-convincing" cult. If they are smart ones, they actually have to keep re-brainwashing themselves, and avoid the arguments against, because internally their brains are trying to escape.

Yeah. Psychologists are beginning to link belief in conspiracy theory to people who shoot up public places. So maybe the anti-vax thing is just nature righting a wrong. These people will die off. Which is good because the herd needs to be thinned a bit. We haven’t had a good purge in too long.

    Alienation, paranoia, rage...it makes sense.

I would support states creating anti-vax schools - and in fact entire anti-vax cities - for these a-holes that put us all at risk while telling us about the great vaccination hoax. That, or just criminalize it and have anti-vax prisons. Point being give them what they deserve which is isolation from the general population and then your plan can carry itself out. I do think it should be criminal for parents not to vaccinate their kids.

There was a moron that I met a few years ago while doing a volunteer day at my daughter’s school. Only time I’ve heard an anti-vax person in real life. Stupidest person I’ve ever spoken to.

Just stick them all together in Nebraska (which isn’t a real state anyway... it’s just the government lying to you again) and let nature do it’s thing.

And yes, I’m fully on board with separating these idiots from the rest of us. We need vaccines. Maybe not as many as we have, but these diseases were defeated for a reason. We live in a society. If you don’t want to follow the rules and put everyone at risk, you need to be quarantined and your kids god damn sure don’t deserve to go to the same schools as other kids.

As BB might say, we are talking about football here, not science. Why does this get on this forum. Isn't there another one for general topics?

The absolute tidal wave of Patriots news is getting lost in the clutter. We need to move this thread and clear some web space to discuss hard-hitting topics like Bob Kraft’s rub and tug and Brady pulling confetti out of his helmet.

The thing I will say about them though, is that they are similar to "Flat Earthers" in that their reasons are often irrationally rooted in very real pain or emotion.

Many, many parents of autistic children or otherwise developmental delayed kids are believers in the anti-Vax thing because they desperately want to know "why" and "how", and for some reason it gives them more false hope for some kind of "cure" for their children.

    Just saying.

Vaccination schedules coincide with signs/detection of autism and other behaviors. That’s why a lot of people confuse causation and correlation. That’s fine - I understand. But then loads and loads of evidence disproves their idea, and they refuse to accept the truth. I can’t make excuses for that. Sorry for their misfortunes, but spreading dangerous misinformation is idiotic and wrong.

I find it funny all the conspiracy people ranting against Science as they type on their computer, putting information on the Internet, two of sciences greatest creations...

It was a cool discovery. My question to quantum mechanic on all this is in two parts. What’s on the other side of that rip? And two: is it actually true that people who believed in particles saw them and ones who didn’t did not see them? Or was it that they are not there unless you look at them? That’s crazy if true but I’m not a physics major. More of a language and math guy

They also cling to the already debunked notion that the rate of kids with issues has increased. It may have or may not have, but the fact that we are 7 Billion people now and that we know more about the brain and health than ever is the real reason there are so many cases.

There are so many cases because now, the government tells you how to raise your kids. There’s no discipline, it’s like, just give hyper kids adderall. In the 70s, they just kicked your ax and it was a wrap. Now, that would be considered abuse. So, I’ll just show you south parks take on this
