Brady has been a fringe top 10 QB this year who's costing the Patriots games, 3 seperate road games they've scored 10 points and he's been brutal.

People don't wanna admit what they're seeing, a guy terrified of contact who's not what he used to be, he's still very good but no longer unique, no longer the best QB in the league and it's not all his fault it's a small decline in his ability and a roster that's become old and it's key players are a shell of what they used to be.

Brady needs better pieces around him as his advanced age and slight decline in ability, it's not going to work asking him to carry garbage bottom 10 rosters anymore, you can't expect a 41/42/43 year old to carry a poor team like he could in his 30s.

They scored 6 points in the 2nd half and there was a monumental blunder right before the half.

Perhaps a very slight decline in mobility, and a lot more timing issues adjusting to the new Gronk Lite, Gordon, Patterson, and a slower Hogan. He lost Amendola, essentially the Gronk we knew, and Cooks...their three best receivers from 2017. I don’t feel I need to make excuses for him because his play has been excellent as usual.

The guy has arguably been playing better statistically every year since 2013... expectations are impossible...plateau or temporary decline from that level is inevitable at any age.

He threw for almost 400 yards, 3 TDS, 0 INTs and made incredible clutch plays on third downs late in the game, then threw a dagger down the sideline to Gordon for a PI call. That’s about as iced as the game can be. Somehow people are still whining that he cost them 3 points. He got 33 and was an assassin when it mattered most. People seem so fickle. If the Patriots has stopped a 70 yard TD and were 10-4 right now still in the hunt for the one seed, the perspective of Brady is completely different.

If he had gone 14/36, 0 TDs, 2 INTs, the last play wouldn’t have mattered either. Thanks for reiterating my exact point about expectations. You choose to focus on one bad play out of around 40 plays he was involved in that game. Had he not made several spectacular throws on third and long, they also would not have scored 3/7 points those drives. But that doesn’t seem to matter to you as those 3 points were precious, irreplaceable, and the reason for the loss. In the end he scored 33 points and threw several daggers in the waning minutes of the game, a very ballsy would be game-clinching pass to Gordon down the sideline, as clutch as it gets. That got them 3 points too. But those three points don’t mean anything because the 3 points he lost before halftime were special golden points.

You confuse "People don't want to admit what they're seeing" with "Some people actually try to analyze what's happening". And saying that Brady's played horrible lately is asinine. In his last 4 games, he's got a 7:2 TD:INT ratio, a 105.1 QB rating, has thrown for over 1,200 yards, is completing 68% of his passes, and is probably a horrible play call and a holding penalty away from being 4-0.

Also want to point out that Brady has 14 pro bowl selections (and one more puts him past 4-5 guys he's tied with including Forehead), but he's also been screwed three times. This is really the only time he's been a borderline selection; it was a close call between him and Luck, and if Luck were selected, Brady wouldn't get credit because if you're not one of the first group, you'd need to play in the game to get credit. So before all the "Brady got lucky" crap, which I don't actually agree with, consider:

• In 2002, he led the NFL in touchdown passes but didn't make the pro bowl. Has that ever happened to anyone else?
• In 2003, he was the runner-up in the MVP voting, but he didn't make the pro bowl.
• In 2006, he dragged truly one of the absolute worst offensive supporting casts I've ever seen (the bug eyes still haunt me) to the AFCCG...and his regular season numbers at that time, around 87 passer rating, were well above average despite this horrendous cast. How good was he? I've always felt 2007 merely showed how good he had become in 2006 and just shows how much supporting cast effects statistics.

Voters smartened up after 2007 and realized how good he was all those years with marginal skill players, which many of us already knew. So if you feel Luck deserved to make it, just accept the result as some karmic justice and be glad for Brady.

The Pro Bowl doesn't mean much, but it sure would sound nice next year if he becomes a 15X pro bowl player, the highest number of selections in league history, with no selections as an alternate. Especially since in the early-mid 2000s, Forehead was the pro bowl King which was according to many superior than the actual champion King, making this both sweet and ironic.

Very similar stats since Edelman returned to his MVP campaign. But "fringe top 10" and "been brutal". He definitely had a few brainfarts more than usual this year but overall he is one of the best QBs in the league. People thinking his play has been brutal just shows the ridiculous standard he set in the past decade.

The Pro Bowl is about the only event that the league has not been successful in and it has become an inconvenient distraction...

They have tried a variety of different formats none of which work very well... IMO the Pro Bowl has a very short shelf life and the end is near... it may morph into some type of way rewarding who they view as the best players sans football..

Identical passing TDs and INTs to Brady, but better rating (higher yards per attempt and completion percentage), plus he's going to end the season with over 500 rushing yards.
