I think these are all valid. A couple of caveats:

1.) One caution is that ray was eternally injured at alabama and we are coming up on preseason games. Will he stay healthy for 3 games?
2.) offensive guard is getting interesting and onwenu is literally playing his way off the team. Hambright seems better in zone at this point.
3.) defensive racket is going to be a huge battle. Barmore and godchaux appear to be locks! After that whoever steps forward could make this team.

All fair points. If Ray stays healthy, he'll most likely make the team, he's been too good so far. You raise an excellent point about him staying healthy. Keeping my fingers crossed as that's a position where we could use more playmakers.

I don't think the zone blocking scheme plays to Onwenu's strengths. I think he's still too valuable, especially at RT for him to be off the team. Herron is also having a good camp, so I think we have some decent depth at the tackle position.

Ray certainly has the athletic ability and his pedigree was top notch, he was ranked as the 18th best overall high school prospect in 2017 by ESPN. And he stuck it out at Alabama for five full years, he didn't transfer to a weaker school where he could be showcased more, I would argue that speaks to his character. It is especially hard to stand out on the DL at Alabama because they typically rotate six among the three DL positions, I'm sure that everyone remembers how a supposed "red flag" (which turned out to be a red herring instead) with Christian Barmore was that he only played in about 40% of the snaps at Alabama.

So: Ray has great natural athletic skills, great perseverance, and by all accounts a "team first" type of guy. But his injury history was really, really concerning, and even when he played he didn't really have that much of a "wow" factor (perhaps because of lingering injuries that he played through).

Let's hope he has finally put the injury bug behind him, if so we might have another free agent find

2) One injury at RB and Belichick would be trading a 3rd for a RB. I really think that we need one more on the 53. Essentially you are counting on Strong to be valuable as a rookie AND you seem to expect Montgomery to repeat the Bolden miracle if necessary. I've fine with Montgomery on the 53 as a utility R/WR/RB.

I've fine with Montgomery on the 53 as a utility R/WR/RB. I've said all along Ty will be replacing White. Strong will back him up. Anyone else will come from PS, IR, PUP.

The way you broke the positions down implies a 3-4 defense, and I would consider Ray a 3-4 DE.

• Not putting a WR6 on the roster, I still think the rest have a solid chance at making it through waivers.
• I could see them going with 8 OL and 3 TE, if there were to be 3 TE on the team worth keeping. Onwenu and Hambright provide tackle depth in addition to their guard roles.
• I couldn't find room for Ray, but I wanted to. I just prefer Roberts right now.
• No more Anderson, especially if we want to keep Roberts and/or Ray.
• It seems unlikely that Perkins would be cut so quickly in his career after not doing much wrong, but I wanted to keep everyone else on this 53 more.
• Not a fan of Tavai, but I think Belichick is. McGrone hasn't seemed to do much to earn a spot.
• 6 CB is honestly 1 more than you need, but there are 4 locks plus Mitchell (much needed outside depth and size, although this spot could go to Wade) and Bryant (projected primary punt returner). Can't see another way right now.
• I can't imagine Bledsoe sees the field, or even the active roster, with the depth chart ahead of him. I'd still rather have a player as good as him on the inactive list every week than cut him for someone significantly worse at a position of need.
• Schooler seems likely to get a spot, but I personally can't find one for him without cutting someone I doubt Belichick would actually cut (specifically, Cody Davis).

The last few cuts are going to be really, really tough/interesting.

A few comments:

-I like that you put Schooler on the team. I think he makes it.
-LaBryan Ray I believe is making the team...now who do we remove? Tough one, at this point I think he is above Roberts, maybe a surprise cut in Guy.
- I agree with you that Anderson doesn' t make the team
-I think Ferentz is making the team.
-I don't think they are trading Meyers or Agholor. I think they go with 6 wr and IR Wilkerson and keep Nixon.
- Going to be interesting between the last cb position between Bryant and Wade...I'd go with Wade like you did, but it wouldn't surprise me if Bryant is the choice.
