I just have a feeling the Pats are planning something. Falk, White, Lauletta et al are nice developmental prospects but we are looking for our potential franchise QB of the future. I just don't see that in any of those guys. Jimmy G was a better prospect than those three and he had the benefit of time. We might need our guy to be ready next year.

I just feel if we took Lauletta or Falk we would be having this discussion about a franchise QB next year again.

I know its a cliche but you can't teach what Jackson has, but you can improve his mechanics, accuracy and pocket awareness. I would be so excited if we took him, even with a trade up to 14 ahead of Baltimore.

Every QB in the draft is a developmental project...it just gets lost in the media feeding frenzy.

ICYMI, here's an extensive list from the ProJo that includes a crap-tonne of info on which Pats honcho attended the pro days of various prospects. Caveat emptor, the implication is that the honcho was there specifically for that prospect. Unless said honcho had specific contact with the prospect, that's kind of an assumption.

OTOH, I think they note a couple of workouts and formal interviews/meetings that aren't on my consolidated list (e.g., Dante Pettis at the Combine, James Daniels at his pro day, Da'Shawn Hand and Jaylen Samuels at the Senior Bowl). Could be meaningful, could also not be meaningful.

Crossen was in for a visit, and it sounds like Bentley and Michel were as well. Maybe I misunderstood Caserio, but it sounds like most of the draftees had official contact. I think we did a good job of tracking the type of player they're interested in bringing on board.

Pats probably met with everyone they drafted. They do their own scouting and are known to be thorough in the process. I would venture that they had contact with just about everyone who was draft eligible

I'm sure they've been tracking a lot of these guys since HS. Another advantage to the continuity of not making wholesale changes to coaching and management every couple-three years.
