People need to stop caring about Star Wars so much. Frankly the movies in general aren't that good.

The Empire Strikes Back is the only great movie in the series. Even 'A New Hope' outside of the context of the advancement of movie effects is a 7/10. In large part due to an amazing score which carries a number of bland performances.

It was interesting though. Mostly because of how original it is, and how well in bent several genres together. But I don't give it a lot of points for that. Star Wars, like most movies between 1967-80, benefited immensely by getting in on the first wave of the new Hollywood. It's easy to be first and innovative when you get to play by an entire new set of rules.

we're losers if we don't go all little girl giddy about Star Wars movies?...on a Patriots FOOTBALL thread? This crapola belongs in the Shythouse thread of the Pats Pub thread. I realize you have this asperger's compulsion to put up dozens of threads a week but try to stick to the original purpose here..Patriots Football...not Nuby Nutz Nbooby...

The last two entries have been horrific. The franchise should renamed The Triumphs of Mary Sue.

Well except for the pesky fact that each new one makes 1BILLION dollars.

Personally I love 4,5,6 and liked 7, but really did not like the pre-quels except for the space battle in opening of 3, and did not like 8

I really like both Rogue One, and Solo (I was shocked I liked Solo)

I would add to that instead of advancing with the times they've tried to stick with "the formula" that worked for them in the first three. I understand sticking to your roots but you can't do three trilogies just reproducing the same crap and not lose fans.

Rogue One was the best thing they've put out since the original trilogy which frankly I still like more out of nostalgia than anything else. It was dark, edgy and didn't follow the formula and added to the original storyline.

Any order that contains 1-3 is bad. Start with 4 (a New Hope) and go from there. RIP Chewie.

This is very cool. MUST WATCH for Star Wars fans. They redid the final fight between Vader and Obi Wan in Ep 4. Way better then the fight in the film. Maybe one of the best light saber duels out of all the Star Wars films. Disney should hire these guys. I do wonder though how they got the ok to use the film footage.

I liked sappy 6 and the brand new ones with Re. As someone pointed out to me, however (it could have been one of my smart aleck kids), the new episodes with Re are exactly the same story as Luke's (no wonder I like them! :))

Exactly the same story as Luke's minus character development and good writing but with lots of additional plotholes.

You'd have to watch them the way they came out. There's no way you could watch the new ones and then go to the older ones, you'd have a special effects stroke. I'm a Stark Trek guy so never been a rabid fan of the series.

Suffice to say that I will not be watching the next Star Wars installment due to the GoT bozos getting their hands on it, unless the entire installment (what, three episodes?) gets some really good props.

I’m not much of a Star Wars guy but watch to justify the cost of my home theater and get some semi-mindless entertainment and a pretty good story. The score is always the best part of the movie. But in this case, I don’t want to spend another six hours expecting to be monstrously disappointed in the end.
