I think Boston's magical ride ends here but what they've done is pretty extraordinary. They're probably the favorites in the East next year - no matter where LeBron is - if they can stay healthy.

And if I am wrong and they beat Cleveland, it will be the happiest plate of crow I've ever eaten.

Celtics will be heavy favorites in the East next year as long as Lebron goes anywhere except the 76ers.

I think you are diminishing the rest of the team. LeBron doesn't walk alone...

That's why we've gotta take care of business at home, especially.

As I said in the other thread the Celtics are younger, faster and much better coached than the Cavs. The Cavs literally have one sure advantage and it is Lebron. Limit Love and smother their role players and we have a good shot at this.

    Celtics in 7.

I know that Lebron is the best player in the NBA ...

However we just survived 2 players that are top 10 in the league in Embid and Giannis.
The Bucks had a more complete team and we survived them ... the Sixers not so much but Embid was a load. This season we have had trouble with teams that have great big men ... the Cavs do not have that and they are not as complete as the Bucks ... but they have Lebron.

If we can contain him and he scores 30-35 we have a chance.

Embiid is not a top 10 player. Definitely not yet. Currently the 76ers are overrated, and people were a bit fooled by 'the Process'. If they add Lebron then they become formidable, otherwise they aren't very scary at all.

I don't disagree with the rest of your post though.

We actually have a shot at winning this series. We gotta split the first 4 though....hopefully take 2 at home and try to split games 3 and 4 in Cleveland...but more likely we split at home...lose 2 in Cleveland...win game 5 at home...then brings us to a game 6 on the road that will decide everything. No way do we lose a game 7 at home with the chance to finally vanquish LeBron's reign of terror on the EC. The fans would be lubed up for that game....

My expectation for this series is to do better than last year where we lost in 5...but 4 of the 5 games weren't really competitive...and we didn't have IT and Brown saw his minutes reduce as he hit the rookie wall or something (which makes Tatum all the more amazing, BTW)...... if we lose in 6...this season has been a success in my book.

I still think we are the favorites no matter where LeBron signs in the EC. I think LeBron is going to L.A. though...

Do you guys maybe expect a game plan similar to how the Patriots played against Julio?

You're never going to completely shut down LeBron. But what you can do is put in a good effort but dramatically slow those around him down. The games they lost in their first series was because everyone else was shut the f down, and they still won. But it was as close as it could get.

I think throwing Love off is crucial. When he has a good day, it's really difficult to do much. But when he was struggling in that first series, a lot of the pressure was on Lebron - who with assists included, accounted for roughly 60% of the points, if not more, of each game.

Football and basketball are two different games, so I dunno how plausible that strategy is. But in my head it sounds good haha.

Hope the celtics win, but I cannot lie - I want to see Lebron lose another Final.

Huh? Brown saw his minutes increase in each round of the playoffs last year.

Every round it seems people here say, if they get to the next round they are done. Then they get there and people start saying, OK they got a shot here, but in the next round it’s curtains. Can’t wait to see what people say when we play the Dubs.

If the Celts win it all, which explodes first - Barkley’s head or Barkley’s belly?

Eh, he really gets abused in the paint like Gronk if we are being fair. Doesn’t get called a lot on defense and traveling but that guy gets the **** kicked outta him and doesn’t get the calls other stars do. Also Celtics in 7...we can switch anyone on defense and can abuse a lot of matchups. Go right at poor defenders like Korver.

Cavs will win in 5 or 6. Celts are too injured. Stevens' coaching can only overcome so much.
