The low point was between around 77 and 84. In 75, they were one bad Ben Dreith call away from winning a SB, in 86 they were back in the SB, albeit only to get curb stomped by the Bears.
I wonder if people got horned up whenever NE won a SB, affecting birth rates in the region. In other words, was there a Brady Boom?
Cusp? What year were you born?
I read that article. It was very good.
I grew up in Baltimore, big Johnny U fan. So that makes me a boomer. Moved to New England in 90. My company had season tickets to all 4 teams that we used to entertain customers. No one ever wanted pats tickets the first 3 years there. I entertained my family at a few of the games because of it. Became a fan in those rust - Macpherson years before tuna. Been one ever since, despite moving away.
We were starting a family around that time anyway but winning SBs didn't hurt.
Respectfully disagree. Time plays memory tricks. It was the '76 team that got robbed by Ben (BLEEPIN') Dreith not the '75 team. The '78 team remains one of my all time faves from the pre Kraft era. Damn the Sullivans to hades for that whole Fairbanks disaster...
The absolute nadir was from '88-'94. Which can be better illustrated than discussed as being the years between this...
some kid on xbox said ok boomer to me
[spends all day at work posting on patsfans dot com]
goddamn lazy millennials no work ethic
It helps me focus.
Ah, memories ... Remember the Lisa Olson incident? If I remember correctly, she subsequently did her "reputation" no favors by hooking up with a Bruins player. Then she moved to Australia. She was kind of a hottie ...
There was someone on here recently complaining about social media and how bad it is. I pointed out he has thousands of posts on PatsFans and he refused to believe that it was *also* social media! (Which it certainly is).
It also occasionally qualifies as antisocial media. So, really, a little something for everyone...even literate folks in TN
Internet is anti-social as hell and we should probably just end it. Net negative for humanity.
How's that for some get off my lawn ****???
I think it was Jim Weimer but not 100% sure.
Where there is knowledge there is always hope. Of course every day that hope seems to be getting closer and closer to being...
(How's that for a lawn you don't want any part of?)
Fun times! Can you imagine if this happened now??!! Peoples heads would EXPLODE.
Nah, in today's more enlightened and inclusive climate Kiam's Patriot Missile joke would totally defuse the fuss
It would be international headlines, lawsuits, loss of draft picks and probably a congressional inquiry.
