I personally don't care what every generation is called. I hear it everyday about how our generation was so much beater workers then they are now. Then that same person mess-up an assignment but it was his physical or some old age ailment that is to blame not our great work ethics.
Getting to Bledsoe especially remember 1996.

The US has been at war somewhere almost every year since Pearl Harbor. It continues today unabated and it has nothing to do with "generations." My point was that you can't tell people who sacrificed blood, kith and kin (Vietnam, AIDS, 9/11 and so on) that they had it great when neither you nor your friends have experienced nearly as much death and destruction.

Along with the political assassinations in 1968, many will label this as a long view rather than a short one.. I look at politics and the world with a very "crooked eye" and am not as easily influenced as I once was.. certainly not very idealistic either..

I'm guessing OK Boomer is a new meme, but to me its already past its expiration date. It reads to me as "You're older and wiser*, but screw that".

*I know that age doesn't automatically confer wisdom, but I feel as if that catchall phrase is brushing off wisdom even when it is actually in play.

No, it's that boomers are out of touch authoritarian losers. The fact you think being older means being wiser is illustrative. Boomer's more state of mind than age.

Back on topic - I came in during the Eason/Grogan phase, and I loved Grogan. Tough SOB, and my Dad, who had watched far more football than I had at that stage, pointed out to me the picture-perfect rainbow passes Grogan habitually threw. I also cherish a memory of seeing him duck a would-be LT sack, albeit in a losing effort. Now knowing how special LT was makes that memory all the more remarkable. Good times.

A bit of a silver lining - I'm sure Mr. "How Dare Tom Terrific" Esiason catches extra grief these days :D

That's when I became a fan, in 1975. Got my 1st Patriot's jersey for Christmas 1976 (thanks Ma ! tough to get a Pat's jersey in NYC back then). I was 14. God I'm old. It was a Randy Vataha #18 jersey. LOVED that 1976 team, thought they were gonna win it all.

What you will never find looking up stats & records or understand simply from being told is what made the team so soul suckingly 'atrocious' (for want of a better word) was the death of hope. Our little team that couldn't was under a constant relocation threat and every loss was another nail in the coffin for the relatively few of us fans that were left. Between the broke azz Sullivans, scummy Kiam, and Otis The Carpetbagger we were the objects of derision even among many fans of the other Boston teams. That triumvirate made even the despicable pre salary cap profiteer Jeremy Jacobs look like a benevolent God. After all, ol JJ may have bled B's fans dry with no commitment to winning a championship but there was never any danger of the Bruins leaving.

But you’re a correct dick. :) Also, there is no such thing as “their’s” .... so the second bolded word was just an incorrect spelling.
(I usually judge grammar errors in my head, but I commend anyone brave enough to do it openly)

Oh, totally. Always thought, man why couldn't I be 20 years older!

I just dont particularly find a lot of the **** conjured up by places like 4chan to be funny. I guess find myself enjoying a different brand of comedy/zingers. I get the meme (haha you're old!), just doesn't resonate as funny or creative with me.

"Boomer" as used by rude Twitter teens and the like is a state of mind, not purely generational. It's about not "getting" the standard level of irony that everyone under 35 exudes online and being an out-of-touch earnest online poster or try-hard with generally (proudly) unenlightened social views. The whole thing about it being about age is not only missing the joke, but the whole point of the joke. For example, boomer is AndyJohnson responding to obvious ironic trolling posts by talking about his superior logic and getting angry that people aren't following whatever rules he thinks exists online and yelling to the mods about it, because you know he's also doing the real life equivalent by calling the cops on kids skateboarding or whatever.

This thread's just missing a few blurry minions memes about supporting the boys in blue to really be boomer as hell, though we do have one Extremely Boomer poster with a blurry cartoon porn thing so there's that.

Very well said, agree completely it was difficult to be a Pats Fans in those days, as we were usually the subject of scorn among peers who were fans of NYJ, NJG and Miami..

Then there were the blackouts.. when I worked on Sundays during football season would always have my Sony Walkman with the ear plugs around my neck so I could hear the game, they thought I as a degenerate gambler.. no I would say just a fan..

Those were the days of Bryant college when there was the gauntlet between the dorms and the practice field.. always remember John Hannah, never saw a man with as big legs as he had..

Good times?? It was always good, if you did not mind a whole lot of BS, stupid management and mediocre teams.. once and a while there was a blip on the radar, but for the most part it was long suffering..

I'm not a 'boomer' (which by the way isn't a remotely funny or clever insult as being currently used)....but thankfully I also miss the cutoff of being part of the soft as **** delusional as **** millenial woke generation. Older is wiser, always. You may understand that someday.

A minority of millenials get it and will always be well ahead of the larger group of their peers who are lazy, entitled little ****s.

What is this thread about again ? I know others here have a lot more history then me but yeah...I remember some stuff.

EDIT: apparently there is a problem with photos? So here is a link...

My buddies nicknamed me Boomer years ago when I smoked a drive when we were golfing. I’m now kinda wishing I had sliced that one.
