Deshaun Watson accused of sexual assault in lawsuit

There is a lot of smoke here. One woman asking for a six figure settlement is one thing, but nine women seems to be a lot for someone to just looking to extort Watson or smear his name. But in fairness to Watson, that still could be exactly what this is.

In hindsight, maybe the Texans should have been picking up those calls for trade talks rather than sending to voicemail. Three days ago, they could have gotten three or four first round picks. Now they might be just have to consider releasing him outright if these allegations are true. In the grand scheme of things, that is not the biggest issue here by a long shot though.

Too much smoke. I'd pass on Watson.

a text from watson to one of the masseue’s was released. don’t see much...if that is all his accuser’s have then it’s a nothingburger

There are two dimensions to this whole thing that run in parallel but have drastically different implications. Some of the accusations we’ve heard from so far are Watson acting in a ridiculously inappropriate behavior that is the definition of sexual harassment where a woman would be entirely in their right to feel uncomfortable. Trying to sleeze his way into trying to coerce a woman there to give him a massage into giving him a *. It’s gross, it’s wrong, and if true he deserves to be held accountable and be punished. BUT I would argue he does not deserve to lose his career over it or any of his long term earning potential.

Separately however we have at least one detailed accusation that Watson forcibly made a woman perform oral sex against her will as she made clear that she did not want to. This is rape. Point blank. We do not yet know if this is the only accusation of such an act being made or if another of the dozen other woman have experienced a similar situation. We have to wait and see. But if this accusation and others like it are true not only should he no longer be in the league but criminal charges must absolutely be filed.

I can think of one thing.
You can say the same about paying for sex if that's what he wanted. Why fly someone in from ATL when you can find 100s close by. I won't be able to have an informed opinion until I see pics of these masseuses. Where's Tmz when you need them.

For a guy who told us all he wasn’t going to try this in the media, he sure is doing an awful lot to get as much media attention as possible.

If you are speaking from a moral standpoint, I won’t argue. If you are speaking from a legal standpoint, then you are not necessarily correct. Many states do not include forced oral in their definition of rape.* This was the whole problem with that Stanford swimmer several years ago. They couldn’t get a conviction of rape because the state of California defined rape as forcible penetration of.... well, let’s just say other parts of the body. Oklahoma had a similar high profile case a couple years ago. (Please note such behavior is still classified as sexual assault and punished as such)

I do not, however, know the laws of Texas or any other state Watson may have done such a deed in.

*I remember reading stories about states that have that loophole closing it, but really haven’t followed the issue closely enough to know if they ever did or not.

Have you seen the third accusation?

“the third suit claims the massage therapist, who now lives in Oregon, was coerced and intimidated by Watson to “move her mouth towards his penis, forcing Plaintiff to perform oral sex on him. Plaintiff did not consent to any of this conduct. Plaintiff blacked out for a few minutes from the fear.”

The suit goes on to allege that after Watson left, “Plaintiff was left shaking, violated and ashamed. Plaintiff was so shaken that she defecated on herself and ran to the bathroom to clean herself up.”
Nope definitely didn't see that one. That is bad. But still find all them finding the same attorney odd at best. I mean is there a secret reddit somewhere I was sexually assaulted by Deshaun where they all talk?

Things don't add up. Won't take a side. That is what courts and juries are for. But my guess like most things involving rich people this ends in a settlement and the whole truth never comes out. Just people left to speculate.

I’m finding the fact that 9 separate women are accusing him of crimes that not only fall into sexual misconduct but some that inarguably fall into outright sexual assault if not rape far less amusing than some of the people in here. Sure maybe it’s a giant conspiracy led by a crazy ass owner idk. But it looks real bad.
The problem is that unless a hell of a lot more evidence comes out, we'll really never know, will we.

This attorney is obviously not looking for a settlement. Watson's going to have to fight this to the very end. It'll be costly. Watson was squeaky clean before this came out and he's a public figure. It won't matter, his reputation is ruined.

What a contrast between this and Tiger. How many women claimed they had sex with him, 12? I don't recall a dozen lawsuits being filed and he admitted to having sex with them. Oh, and he was married with kids.

What a world we live in.

Triggering images of Team America: World Police. Not sure how you defecate on yourself. Sounds like something you need to remove ribs for.

How will you know if the accusations are true? You seem to be taking the accusers 100% at their word. Which one of the 9 "Jane Doe" are we talking about?

He deserves to be punished? For getting a hard on while getting a nude massage? Come on man.

Should Kraft have been criminally charged for getting a bj while getting a massage? Oh wait, he was. And there was video. What happened. Nothing. Zero. Nichts. Zilch. Nada.

It was a lot more than 12...tack a zero on the end and you're probably in the ballpark.

Thing is, all of them had sex with Tiger willingly --- big difference.

How do we know these women didn't willingly partake in whatever went on?

I guess the first hint is they got an attorney and filed a lawsuit...

What's DW doing different than Tiger? (who by the way has MUCH MUCH more money than DW ever will)

Look, I'm not pronouncing the guy guilty, like everyone he deserves the presumption of innocence...but he has a big big problem --- the notion that this is much ado about nothing is insane. I suspect the attorney is doling these out in order of salaciousness, we shall see.

Well, one got an attorney and filed a suit, after DW wouldn't agree to pay a 6 figure, ehem settlement. Her story, he came for a massage, got naked, the tip of his penis touched my hand, oh he sent me a text apologizing.

Attorney, now with national media limelight, then says: hey anybody know this guy, give me a call, maybe we can make money.

Within a couple of days he's got 9 suits lined up and ready to file. No doubt DW has a big big problem. He's f*cked.

Jet-set escorts.

What Kraft did wasn't sexual assault. There is a difference. Hell, if Kraft did it in certain parts of Nevada and it would have been 100% legal.
I never claimed that Kraft committed sexual assault. What % of legal is a tug job in Florida, 50? If it was no big deal why did Kraft pay to have the video evidence suppressed?

I’d say the opposite. Bandwagons are easy things to jump on.
So you think that one woman is lying and the others are going in on the lie? I don't think so.

Maybe Watson was just looking to up his tax deductions by raising the price of the massages. As a professional athlete, they can write off any and everything they do for their bodies, so basically I think its the IRS' fault!

In all seriousness, my step daughter is a massage therapist, she is young, pretty and her mother passed on the large breast genes to her. She works in a reputable day spa (that doesn't have the word "orchids" in its name) and she says 1 in 5 guys will ask for a "full release". When it happens, she ends the session and will refuse to book them ever again. So the fact that Watson has gone through so many massage therapists, makes me think that he might be asking for 'it'.

Watson should have just called Handy Bob, I'm sure he would have set him straight.

Young, famous millionaires forcing themselves on women it makes no sense! You would think it makes no sense, until you read any NCAA recruiting violation report and realize that giving them willing women is the norm in college. And as we all know, you take what you learn in college out into the real world.

I'm not saying Watson is innocent or guilty, and I'm certainly not saying that this lawyer isn't a scumbag, I'm just saying that the request happens all the time to every massage therapist.

Would you like a video of yourself getting tugged blasted on the Network News?

I didn't think so.
