I got mod approval, but the mods are corrupt so that was easy.

Per the mods: No f'ing politics. Jesus, no f'ing politics. No other rules, really.

So uh, whatcha watching on TV? Right now I'm doing a rewatch of Mindhunter with my daughter and loving it.

    What's going on?

We don't have those out west. That's one of the first things that I find weird about a new place all the different gas stations and super markets.

They don't have Cumbys and Shaw's, they have Raley's and Food Source. It's all very weird and I don't like it.

We only just got a Dunkin Donuts like 2 years ago. I still get homesick watching the SNL dunkin's commercial.

    Okay casual, got it!

So ummm... Does anyone here believe in evil and horror not being only a bi-product of free will, or even necessary for it to exist at all? In that case if evil is necessary, then are there times when it has to be termed as not bad?

    Nailed it!

I'm not particularly sure I believe in free will. I don't like to contemplate how much we are at the mercy of our environment and our body chemistry because in my head I want to believe I'm this really unique, interesting noble person and not just the sum total of what I ate yesterday and the way I was raised.

16 year old is driving to soccer practice by herself in my car.

I'm a wreck. This board is taking my mind off of it.

    Thank you.

You're not "just the sum total of what [you] ate yesterday and the way [you] were raised." You're also the sum total of everything you have experienced and every whack decision you have ever made. So...yeah...you've got that goin' for ya, which is ya know....um...yeah

I was a huge baseball freak from the age of 8 until my early teens. I fell in love with the 86 Mets at the start of the season (even as kid I was a contrarian little bastard who refused to root for the Sox because everyone else liked them) and I remember when the ball went through Buckner's legs my parents told me to not celebrate it in school the next day because everyone was going to be mad.

What really drove me away from baseball was that I'd get attached to these players who were heroes of mine and then the next year they were traded. I hated the roster turnover.

Then I got into the NFL and the importance of every game made it hard to get back into baseball. The stakes on a per game basis are just sooooo much higher it's hard to relate to a league with a billion games a year. I do get into baseball when there's a team that hasn't won a championship in forever and it's like, game 7 in the post season or something. That's about it. I need the drama.

Good luck with all that, I didn't have so much as a single gray hair on my head until the 1st one started driving. I'm not sure I slept well again unaided (TY again House of Seagram) until the last one was married off.
