Just wanted to say thanks for all the kind words, they mean a lot. Yesterday was really tough. Frankly I was surprised at how hard it was, I missed him so much, and was overcome with grief. This was surprising, as we all knew he was on his way out, but no amount of knowledge was enough to prepare me for the actual loss. I've had losses in my family, I thought I would be "good" at it by now. Nope. It just sucks. I'm not any better at getting over losing a loved one. I guess that's a good thing, don't want to ever get desensitized to it.

It has been really helpful, through the fog, to come here and read the kind words. Thanks, patsfans! I thought you would understand the bond we shared as much as anyone!

Sorry for your loss. Cancer is a ***** and my mom is battling her now. We get to a point in life where we lose more then we receive. It's tough to see our loved ones get old and pass, but that's the cycle of life. Your uncle passed but your daughter is growing. God bless and all the best to you.
