Admittedly not super relevant, but Bob Kraft owns the Boston Uprising (Overwatch League team), and they just scored a big win against a previously 5-0 London Spitfire squad that's basically a star-studded team of Korean pros. Revolutionary War 2, same result, etc. etc. Sounds like some guys in the discord channel are ready to go dump some tea in the harbor.

I doubt many people here play Overwatch, but it can be a pretty fun watch even if you don't; if you've got nothing better to do on Saturday there are worse ways to kill a couple hours this Saturday. Uprising has a pretty cool story too, very lightly regarded coming into the season since they picked a bunch of guys that weren't perceived as having a lot of individual talent, but they play very cohesively and are extremely coachable and adaptable, and probably half of them are playing way above individual expectations. Belichick would be proud.

Overwatch is dope. But, as much as I love the Pats, I don't think I'll support any other Kraft owned team.

Not that I've ever followed competitive games anyway....

Overwatch is a video game, team objective-based shooter. Overwatch League just launched a few weeks ago, with 12 teams from around the world (Boston, Philly, NYC, Florida, San Fran, two LA teams, Dallas, Houston, London, Seoul, Shanghai). Each team is owned by someone who paid a $30 million franchise fee to buy in, so there's some real money behind it. I really think it'll pan out, I've watched every Boston game and each has had comfortably over 100,000 concurrent views at all times.

Boston/London just ended, but New York/Philadelphia are currently playing at The Overwatch League.

It will be tough for them to overtake League, but Overwatch should be a very solid addition to the esports world. Guess I'll root for these guys because of the Kraft connection.

My son loves overwatch and just hit grand master (I think that’s what it is). Kid seems pretty good and hangs out with a couple you tube personality/overwatch gamers on occasion

Grandmaster puts him in the top 1% of competitive players, so yeah, that's really good. Just one step below top 500, which is itself just a small step below pro tier.

Yep I just heard about this. They were projected to be one of the bottom of the barrel teams but this gives me some hope for them. I play a ton of Overwatch myself. I started playing last summer and haven't played any other game since. It's fun as hell.

GM is more than pretty good, it's nutty. I like and play OW, but I only have so much free time. Hard to justify watching people play it over actually playing it myself. The people in OWL are insane though - can be very entertaining.

They have too many Korean players to be bottom barrel. No idea why so many people slept on them preseason. Especially with a questionable Shanghai and SF roster.

Generally speaking Boston looks solid but I doubt they will have any chance against Seoul. That being said a top 3 finish is definitely in the books.

Holy crap. Now we know why they're talking "re-unification"... imagine the OW implications!
