This is a question IMO asked a few years to early. I think the fact he's still with them shows that they certainly see something in him, but he has a long road ahead before he ever becomes relevant.
 
Does anyone know what his status is for next year? Will he be cut when he is clear or do you think he will be kept on the team?

If they wanted to cut him, they would have. He'll get every opportunity since they need ILBs and he's had a year to study.

After that, it's up to him. They don't fool around with guys that don't "get it".
 
He is signed through the 2010 season.

Lua, since he was on IR, could attend meetings but could not practice with the team.
