The Sox are looking at Orlando Cabrera? Like why?
I didn't want to see him move on after 2004 but he's 34 years old now.

Report: Red Sox inquire about Orlando Cabrera

According to ESPN.com's Buster Olney, the Red Sox have had conversations with the Oakland A's about shortstop Orlando Cabrera. Cabrera signed a one-year, $4 million deal with Oakland prior to this season, that includes a bonus of $250,000 if traded. The 34-year-old is currently hitting .239 with two homers and 19 RBI, carrying a .289 on-base percentage. Olney also reports that the Sox and Pirates continue to have discussions regarding shortstop Jack Wilson, who is owned approximately $5.8 million for the rest of the season, including the buyout on an option for 2010.

his glove and he hits fairly well in Fenway...they must have finally had enough of Green and Lugo

At this point all I want from the SS position is good defense. We aren't going to get that with Green and Lugo. Anything with the bat is a bonus imo.

I wish Lowrie were able to be counted on to be healthy and productive but who knows at this point.

I blame it all on Nomar. That's only logical owing to ALL our SS problems beginning with him.

Oh Nomar.. why why why!

i would love to see ocab back with the sox. hes the type of player who plays much better in a environment with pressure and sold out games every night. some guys just need the extra juice. he was hitting 246 in 04 with the montreal expos before the trade . he hit 296 with the redsox after the trade.
