Get it while it's hot. It actually looks surprisingly good! I'm impressed by Affleck's Batman voice. I hated the selection when they first made it but he may be able to actually pull it off. I'm still skeptical of Eisenberg as Luthor but there was never a chance that I wasn't going to see this movie. Now, with this trailer, I'm actually excited for it.

EDIT: I guess Warner Brothers decided to roll with it instead of try and bury it. Here's the trailer in better quality...

I want to get into it, and the trailer looks good, but I can't.

They should have brought back Christian Bale to play Batman. It just doesn't seem right watching another guy play Batman.
I agree that Bale is the best Batman but I can see why they didn't bring him back. I guess they're going in a different direction and this looks to be the theatrical version of Frank Miller's Batman. My personal choice would have been Gerard Butler if they were going to move on from Bale but Affleck looks like he may actually be able to pull it off just based on his voice in this. The wild card to the movie is whether or not Eisenberg can do justice to Luthor.

Why is it Batman "vs." Superman? Is this based on comic book lore? Like Azorian I'm going to need more convincing about Affleck as Batman. He's always seemed like such a lightweight.

Not sure if it's based on comic lore. I just know what Affleck's Batman is based on, and it's Frank Millers Dark Knight. As for the movie, based on everything I've read, it's Batman vs. Superman because the world views Superman as a threat after he and Zod leveled the city during their fight in "Man of Steel". Wayne arrives in Metropolis to assist LexCorp with rebuilding the city but the whole reason he's there is to assess Superman's threat status and take him out if need be. But yes, I'm still not fully sold on Affleck either but, like I said before, there was never a chance that I wasn't going to see this movie.

Do you ever check ratings at rottentomatoes.com? I've found that a pretty reliable source for deciding whether to catch something at the theater or just wait 'til it hits HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, etc. on cable.

I use RT, Roger Ebert, and Metacritic. Metacritic is my go-to.

Affleck still needs to convince me ...

BTW, "Mad Max Fury Road" was the BEST action-adventure film I've ever seen. Hope you caught it.
Affleck actually looks as if he may carry the movie. Eisenberg as Luthor may well ruin it. And why is he wearing a wig? Lex should be bald.

And I did. And very much agreed. Movie of the summer, easily.

Okay... well... my high hopes have been dashed. Eisenberg looks like a god awful choice for Luthor and, even outside of that, it looks like he's going to be very poorly written. There are also going to be WAY too many characters in it and, as a result, I think the movie is going to be all over the place. The only way I can see the film doing them all justice is if it's over 3 hours, which it won't be. Even still, the trailer had me going up until the 2:15 mark. Then they showed Doomsday. I'm guessing they're going to **** all over that storyline as well since it's hard to see Superman dying in a movie. That said, I'll still see this. But I'll be seeing it with very tempered expectations.

That trailer pretty much gave away the whole movie.

What do you think about the new racially PC Star Wars?

I really don't care that there is a black Stormtrooper, be to honest. Lando was in the originals and he was as black as night. So we know that brothas exist in that universe. I think it looks good. That franchise needed new direction because, outside of Episode III, the prequels were straight up trash.

Im repeating myself here, but I just can't get in to Affleck playing Batman/Bruce Wayne. Any act after Bale was going to be hard to follow, but Affleck really doesnt pull off a good Bruce Wayne.

This movie looks like such an epic fail. From the cast to the story. Let's forget all that and assume that the cast was perfect, and the plot impeccable, how could Batman ever beat Superman? It wouldn't even be close. I'll wait till this puppy is free and I've got little else to waste 2 hours doing.

In the comics, Batman actually had the drop on all of the Justice League in case any of them ever got out of line. And he actually kicked Superman's ass quite frequently. From the previews, it looks like they're doing it close to the comic. Looks like Lex discovers kryptonite, Batman fits that suit of armor with it, and uses it against Supes.

I'm really looking forward to this movie. I have no problem with Affleck. He's been strong in his roles the last few years and he has the height/body/look of Batman/Bruce Wayne. Bale was awesome but the last we saw of him in Nolan's Batman was him faking his death and being retired. That version of Batman is done.

The main heroes all look great but I do agree about the concern with Lex Luthor. From the previews i'm not impressed. We'll have to see how it turns out. I'm also not impressed with the new Joker from the Suicide Squad trailers. Since when was the Joker all tattooed up? He's not a street thug, he's a brilliant crazy guy who dresses in outlandish suits and wears clown make up.

The new Suicide Squad trailer came out yesterday and I gotta say this looks really good. Gonna be an interesting year for DC.
