Bingo. Screw this deep threat garbage. What we need are WR that can win on the outside. This doesn't need to be a speedy deep threat guy. Just someone to keep defenses from stacking the MOF.

Glad to hear about Etling! He has the perfect role models in Brady and Hoyer who have both had to work hard to get where they are.

There’s a couple of WRs I’d like us to target. Agree with Hogan, have been so disappointed with him this season thought he would of done more. Antoine Wesley is an interesting outside Guy. He’s got good size as well at 6”5 he also has decent speed too. As well as Riley Ridley is another guy I really like too.

TE depth in this years draft is ridiculously good. Lots of options there this year.

I think similar to Hightower a lot of people are overestimating what Flowers will get on the open market. While his diversity is a big asset to us it also means he is not truly elite as an edge guy and wasn't able to compile many stats.

Unless Patricia or Flores make it a mission to grab him because they know the value of a player who can be used all over I don't think his market will be crazy.

Could end up around 10-11m APY (guaranteed portion). But all it takes is just one team so who knows..

Pay Trent Brown. Wynn can be Cannons replacement. Franchise Flowers. Can't lose the only defensive lineman that we have that's worth a damn.

Well, the Pats have Darren Andrews who they stashed on NFI. At 5'10 he played a lot on the outside during his days at UCLA.

They also have Damoun Patterson who is 6'0 4/8" and 190 lbs who also is an outside receiver. He spent a good portion of the year on the Pats practice squad and they are bringing him back..

I haven't done a lot of looking into potential draft picks, but that's probably where they're going to have to go for WR since there aren't a lot available.. At least as of yet..

A player from my alma mater who ripped it up at the Senior Bowl and would kill it in the Pats system is Deebo Samuel. We should target him in the second round as a replacement for Patterson. Think Patterson but much more polished as a receiver. Go watch film of him shredding DBs off the line from Senior Bowl practice. I think he solves for multiple issues in the WR corps (gets open, deep threat, great returner, handles the ball out of the backfield). Let Hogan and Patterson walk.

The focus needs to be on resigning flowers. He is a unique guy and will be tough to replace, but again we know BB will not overpay.

Going into the last off-season, Solder was considered much better than Brown is now. Besides, Solder was clearly overpaid.

I didn't think that was allowed yet. I mean don't they need to wait until the 10th of march or something? Maybe I'm not as up on the rules as I thought I was.

He was released by the Falcons, and, thus, able to sign immediately. Unrestricted free agents are those whose contracts expire at the end of the league year. They can’t negotiate or sign with other teams until the new league year begins or the legal tampering period.

Waiting to hear that Denver released Manny Sanders. There's the missing piece to Brady's last few years, right there.

Here is what I would do.

    - Restructure Brady and D. McCourty (-6M total)
    - Keep only 1 of Gronk or Allen. If you keep Allen he signs at 4M or you let him walk. Gronk can make his 12M as I don't think he will play for less. I'll assume Gronk retires. (about -15M)
    - Cut Clayborn (-4M)

Overall these moves alone leave them with nearly 42M

    Sign the following Patriots FA

Gost (think of drafting someone else though) +4M
    M. Brown +2M
    Allen +2M
    Flowers +14
    Waddle +2M
    Dorsett +2M
    Jones +1.5M

Sadly I think you need to Let T. Brown and J McCourty walk (He will be paid too much). Also Patterson is a luxury we can't afford.

Sign for other FAs. Amendola +2.5M

After all is said and done you would still have 11.5M to play with give or take and done your key roster sports look like this

    QB - Brady Hoyer
    WR - Edelman Dorsett Amendola
    TE - Allen Hollister
RB/FB - Michel White Burkhead Develin
OL - Wynn Thuney Andrews Mason Cannon - key back ups Karras and Waddle

DL - Flowers Guy Butler Brown Wise
LB - Van Noy Hightower Bentley Roberts
CB - Gilmore Jackson Jones Dawson
S - McCourty Chung Harmon Ebner

STs - Slater Gost Allen Cardona

A few things jump out here. One is that you probably need to do something about LT. Wynn might be fine but then again he may not be. He was brought in here to be the LT of the future but maybe needs another year.

WR and TE could both use an upgrade. Maybe some left over money could be spent there. I'm hoping Gronk comes back as he would solve a lot of those issues even if he isn't what he was. As long as he can have a repeat of this year with some good strings of games and a healthy post season I'd be glad to have him.

The DL is thin. Rivers may be able to take a step up but who honestly knows. They seem to be able to find guys to make that spot work though so i'm not too worried as long as they have a few key cogs.

The #3 CB is up in the air. Hopefully they can keep J McCourty for cheap but i'm not counting on it. I don't know if Jones, Crossen or Dawson will be ready next year. You would think one will step up but who knows.

Pay Jason McCourty a couple of million more and the secondary is set.

And going into this offseason Brown is considered at least as good a LT as Solder. Nate got what the market offered. If it wasn’t the Giants then the Texans would have paid "crazy" money.

I don’t understand why anything would be different this year with Brown.

Is there talk of his release? I think hed be great here. If we could add dola and sanders thats a huge boost to an area of need.
