Having trouble believing a New York prosecutor wouldn't try to nail a white cis gender male (aka a "white demon") to the wall on a rape charge if he had any chance at all. Plenty of false rape charges have gone around. Look at Clarence Thomas and Kavanagh for example. Fake rape charges are essentially the playbook for some people.

But Pats could never sign him because of the stain left by Kraft's extra curriculars.

How about if it was a San Diego prosecutor?

District Attorneys didn’t want to risk taking an L because it’s not a slam dunk. What a time to be alive. I feel for that girl.
She overplayed her hand. By suing him, she cost him his lucrative job. So now he’s got no real money. Even if she wins in court, you can’t draw blood from a stone.

The main issue is rape charges are insanely difficulty to prove because of the nature of the crime. Prosecutors live and die off their conviction rate. Also not for nothing, Thomas and Kavanaugh were not charged for rape ever in their lives. Deshaun Watson didn't face criminal charges either, and I think it's highly doubtful 40 something women got together and lied (Especially when some didn't even want to sue him and just wanted to support the others).

Whoever attempts to sign him will be taking a media lashing over a punter.
For about a week. Then the outraged will move on to something else to be outraged about.

Fact is a lot of legitimate rape cases never get prosecuted because it comes down to a literal he said/she said. No indictment isn't an exoneration. He still could be 100% guilty of this allegation. I'd rather not risk the Pats employing a rapist because he got away from the crime because lack of prosecutable evidence.

If the Pats did their research and feel strongly it was a false allegation, that is one thing. But just because he isn't getting prosecuted doesn't mean he didn't do it and he deserves another shot at the NFL.

Innocent until proven guilty.

It was a criminal court case not civil.

Today's announcement was from criminal court, but the ball got kicked off with the civil lawsuit brought by the (alleged) victim. That lawsuit triggered a chain reaction of (1) Arazia got cut and (2) Prosecutors investigated the alleged crime.

Today the prosecutors have announced they are not moving forward with criminal charges, but the civil lawsuit is still pending. Unfortunately for the (alleged) victim, since he got cut, there's really no money to be had.

If she really was sexually assaulted/raped, she may just satisfied some vindication and a court saying she was assaulted or raped.

Well she won't be getting a criminal court to make that statement.... and if, after months/years of the anguish of going through the legal process, a civil court finds him liable, well... that plus $5.50 can get you a Dunkin' Frappacino...

Not that I know many or any rape victims, but from what I have seen and read is that just having a jury even in a civil case saying that they believe her means a lot to the victim's recovery.

Well, from what I have seen and read, reliving the entire experience multiple times during discovery and in court is an excrutiating experience which magnifies the trauma.

There is a reason civil cases are virtually unheard of when the assailant has no money.

Or knowing he was fired from his high paying job. Sounds like some pretty good revenge.

The original thread turned into a joke and is locked, but this should be posted, so I will put it here.
Perhaps most notably, the district attorney’s office concluded Araiza couldn’t have led the girl into the alleged gang rape because he had “left” the home at about 12:30 a.m., an hour prior to when evidence suggested the alleged gang rape would have occurred.

“He wasn’t even at the party anymore,” deputy district attorney Trisha Amador explained to the girl. Later Amador stated of the timeline of events, “All I know is that at that point, suspect Araiza is gone from the party.”

Any rape charges against against conservatives are automatically false? Any other examples?
