So Ian a tie doesn't count as a win I had the Cardinals??
Ties right now are set as loss, since we each picked a winner and neither team won. I'm trying to get a feel for how some other sites do it and whether they just don't count it or what the best way to do it is. This is a scenario I wasn't ready for, so it certainly threw me off but right now, it goes against us since neither pick won the game. Granted they didn't lose either - but they didn't win.
Yes! Only 5 games out of first place!
One wrinkle on game-picking, if not picking vs. the spread, is to also have confidence points,
I pick Pats to win, for my 16-point game,
I pick Chiefs to win, for my 15-point game, etc.
Yahoo has a pick-em that goes that way.
Keep it as a loss!
That's interesting...I'll have to look into that. I've truthfully never done any of those, so I'm still figuring this out. Although I did realize we're going to potentially need tiebreakers so I'll come up with something for that.
@Ian = A superstar for the ages!!!
How do you see the overall results?
I like the simple approach. In the Ws and Ls are what matter to the teams, so it feels less like fantasy football to be picking Ws and Ls without a spread or other complications. And, yes, a tie is a loss. Just ask Kyler Murray.

Ties should be counted as a loss, we are about winning here in Patriot Nation.
@Ian , will there be standings to see what place we're in?
So does CBS Sports. It’s pretty fun. Especially since you can find yourself rooting for a team you picked to lose (because say you’re currently in first by a point and the person behind you picked the same team you did but for more confidence points than you did). Confidence pick-em leagues can also reward out-of-the-box thinking if there are weekly winners in addition to/instead of season winners.
The pick-em league I am in has people pick the combined MNF score as a tiebreaker. If the tied people pick the same combined score then we live with a tie. (This is a pay-to-enter league with weekly and season prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd). If there is a tie for one of the top spots then the prize is combined and averaged.
For example, the weekly first place prize is $100, second is $25, third is $5. If two people tie for first even after the tiebreaker they each get ($100+$25)/2=$62.50. And the next person under them would be in 3rd and get the $5. If 4 people tied for first it’d be ($120+$25+$5)/4=$32.50, etc.
I just updated this with last night's results, looks like @BlueThunder rolled to the win at 15-1 in week one . Well done!
PatsFans.com Weekly NFL Picks Contest Standings
I'll come up with a prize of some sort for weekly winners and obviously a bigger prize for the end, but he's our Week 1 Champ
We're on to Week 2
Week 2 picks will begin tomorrow after I update it and flip it tonight when I get home.
You're actually 11-5 BTW
Thanks Ian...That weekly prize of $1000 is appreciated !
