Thanks...What if he's signed to the game-day roster, or to the 53 itself?

No, the dead money is $200,000 from Miller’s signing bonus. A 53 man roster Salary paid by Bears would not offset the signing bonus. Bill gave him $200 large for a week’s worth of work. It part of his “Washed up vets” charity program.

Other than Mahomes, who on that list do you want at those dollars ? Serious question.
It's not as much the names on that list in particular, most of whom I recall being taken before what would've been our 1st-rounder were it not for the Cookie trade anyway, as it is the draft overall...only 4 picks total, half of which didn't even see the end of their 2nd year here...

Brady lobbying for a Sanu Trade was one of his last FUs to us that and his lackluster play in the Miami game and Playoffs against the TITANS.
It was like he was trying to get Logan Ryan paid.

I doubt Brady was so prescient as to know that Sanu would wreck his ankle on a punt return.

Three year, almost $15 million extension for Broncos NT Mike Purcell, who the Patriots will see this weekend and who spent 16 days on the practice squad in 2017.

How the mighty have fallen. So much buzz when we signed him.

He had a great first year. But then regressed in 2016 with the low point being left back in Foxboro inactive when we visited the 49ers.

Another reminder that for a lot of players outside the elite circle it is about being in the right place at the right time with a coaching staff that knows how to use you. And even then things have to go your way because practice time is limited so as a PS player you don't get too many chances to impress.

Bill should maybe host him too, see what he has left...Wino & Simon need more help from somewhere...

I know you don't pay attention and watch the games, but Derek Rivers has been playing well.

Xavier Williams, released from the Patriots’ practice squad 10 days ago, was signed by the Bengals to replace DJ Reader (quad, out for season).

That didn’t last long. Worth a look? Would rather not have Folk on the roster if someone better is out there.

He missed a 24 yarder yesterday. That’s bad.

Was it a back KICK or bad snap or bad hold? Remember that context matters.

To use fantasy/video game terms..

I don't think there is much value to create uncertainty and upheaval to potentially upgrade from a lets say level 72 kicker to someone at 76. Now if a 85 player becomes available somehow, now that's interesting. The step from Folk to Hauschka would seem like a lateral move that just increases the immediate uncertainty.
