Bears declined to pick up Mitch Trubisky's 5th year option.

It seems like this draft class has set the record for most 5th year options not picked up.

Speaking of which -

Bears declined Trubisky's 5th year option.

Another team that could be in the Lawrence sweepstakes.

Wonder if BB would be interested if Pettis is cut...He has good size, PR skills, productive ‘18 season, 4.39 40-time, 6.73 3-cone, 41” vertical, athletic genes etc, rookie contract, healthy etc..Plus, he could be phased out with Deebo, Aiyuk, Taylor, Jennings, Hurd, Bourne, James, Thompson, Fink and Poindexter also on their depth chart.

Pettis could be 49ers trade candidate after picking Aiyuk

Have figured he was an option since late last season and was coming here today to throw his name out/call my shot, good call! He was excellent as a rookie once he got healthy, and spent last year firmly in the doghouse. Shanahan said last year he had the ability to be the best receiver on the team if he was consistent. If he is focused he is a good player. Send a 5th or a 6th and get a potential steal.

You're right, but handing over $10M/year to a gadget player in his 30s who's never been a starter at any position is different from locking down the QB position.

Baffling signing. He has not shown passing ability, he is basically Tebow-lite. Obviously they didn't know that Jameis would be available for so cheap, but it was a weird move either way.

Or just see if he’s cut & keep the pick(s).

BB loved the 2017 draft class so much he made four picks . . . . for the entire draft.

Could definitely see a scenario where BB gets ahold of Reddick or the Lions Jarrad Davis, coach em up and turn them into a 3rd round compensatory pick.

He can’t stay healthy but if he’s a preseason cut I’d put a claim in for him.
Why? John Ross? Are we planning on holding a track meet, or playing football?
