Nervous Nellies... think back...

A couple more tidbits....

In December of 2006, NE lost to Miami 21-0. They didn't score less than 24 points again in over a year.

Another Miami example, AJ Feeley's 2-11 squad carving up of NE's makeshift secondary in December of 04 (the day after my son was born) had a litany of fans wondering how they would hold down more legitimate passing attacks.

Baltimore's 30-3 loss at home to Denver in 2012 didn't mean much in the playoffs, nor did their 1-3 record in December.

Even had NE lost 45-10, it is only one game. If it stokes their competitive fires, then it may even work out better in the end.

One good thing that did come from this weekend is that, with every AFCN second place team losing, it guaranteed NE a first round bye even if they go 3-1 the rest of the way. Since Denver and Cincy will play, one of them is assured of having a 4th loss and NE has the tiebreaker over both. Had another AFCN ended up at 12-4, things might not have broken so cleanly.

We beat the Jets 45-3 at home in 2010, and then in the playoffs they came back to Gillette and dismantled us 28-21 in a game where the final score is far closer than the play on the field would indicate.

Point being, a win here and a loss there in the regular season means nothing if you can't execute in the playoffs, when it all actually matters.

This team's goal is to win a Super Bowl. A loss to a good team on the road will only make you better if you're truly strong enough to win the big one.

I have every reason to think they win out from here on out. If they lose to say MIA at home like the lost to them last year and lose HFA. I will lose it. But that wont happen so its all good

That game last year could have been the difference between us and a SB apperance. Never again!

Well I think they will win out but ...LMAO...I sure glad NE didnt go to the SB last year...ha ha ha..no one was going to beat Seattle...I cant stand anotehr SB loss. , I much enjoyed the SB last year...

I somehwat agree. I dont know how i would have taken another SB loss. Not well...

Heck, I'm still not over 1985 and 1996. Going to the Super Bowl and losing sucks. And it sucks more the more it happens. Just ask a Bills fan.

Me neither, although I'm bitter about 96 for a very different reason than what happened on the field...

See i am over 07 and 11 by now. Took a year or two...but 100% over it

Like I said yesterday, if they were going to lose a game, an NFC opponent yesterday was the right game for that to happen. No shame losing to a really good Packers team in their house. GB looked pretty bad against Seattle in week 1 but it will be interesting to see how they do in the rematch if it happens...
