We’re not ever going to know.

The reason I think there’s something important we don’t know is because of this.

They refused to adjust and use butler. This makes no sense with the info we have. Now, this idea that the game plan was set and the players used were the best idea to win stuff refused to balance in my mind. If there is no info out there then I have to feel the game was intentionally thrown. That does not compute at all

Nothing new really. Just wanted to explain why I think there’s a missing exponent.

Any time stuffs not working they change it over and over till something works better. Butler not being used or even tried screams

They're absolutely both lying because there is no point in rehashing whatever went down, to make one another look bad or unprofessional.

I just think it's funny the people who think Butler did nothing wrong here on top of playing and practicing like crap, where he is some kind of victim.

(Speculation) - I also bet Gilmore's game ending play vs Jax sent Butler into a jealous rage afterwards.

The sad part of all this is (other than losing the sb) that Butler will probably end up signing for a reasonable deal as he had an off year, and I'd bet he's likely to bounce back to CB1 status.
So by messing around with him in the offseason (instead of simply telling him he's unfortunately stuck and not playing the whole New Orleans game) and then benching him in the SB, there is now zero chance he signs with us.

definitely agree with you on all of this. The Pats are known to make "second half adjustments" as well as adjustments period. They are a smart team and well coached because they are adaptable. Doesn't seem like they adjusted much in the Super Bowl

I agree with your first two paragraphs, but your third seems to be quite a reach, at least in my opinion.

there is only one bottom line

the pats had the ability to make an adjustment to try to help them win the game and they chose not to take it. It is a very reasonable expectation that Butler could have helped the game situation by upgrading the coverage ability of the secondary. The Pats refused to try that adjustment even though they could have.

They could have done something and CHOSE to do nothing.

Your post on the last page keeps me from reading the other 176, looking for some new tidbit of news. Thanks for that.

I'm gonna hold my breath until we get answers, dammit! I'll be the the bald, blue guy in the corner if BB's looking for me.

Are any of the reports true about Butler? Even if he didn't practice well, since when is that causation to bench them for the entire game? And why didn't Patricia make any adjustments during half time?

I feel like Belichick wanted to lose this on purpose. He just didn't care. Kinda of saw it on their body language, especially Brady's, in the locker room and on the field.

We wore the white jerseys (we're supposed to be undefeated in those!!) and madden predicted that we were going to win....and yet, WE STILL LOST!!

This was the easiet Super Bowl we were going to have, literally. And we blew it. We-we blew it over some damn trivial beef that we will probably never know about.

That’s the crazy thing too. Butler would have made a couple passes be incomplete you’d think. Even if he broke up two passes more than what happened. Pats win that game

I don't think there's any way BB wanted him back anyway. That's another reason the refusal to play him in the SB is so maddening. He's out of here anyway. Whatever you don't like about him or his game, you'll never have to see him again. So try to win the game! GRRRR.

You saw losing/"didn't care" body language in Brady? Hell no.
