    All I remember is food stamps or something along those lines. I was a young kid and just visited from time to time so I didn't know any details.

    And my grandfather worked full time and grandmother also did side jobs to make some money. They just needed help, though, I guess. ("Needed" may be an exaggeration, looking back. But they didnt live large, either, by any means.)

    Absolutely. Unfortunately, politicians from both parties often reject those kinds of programs because they require funding for monitoring, etc.

    Seems like a no brainer to me, though.

    Many food stamp recipients are already working at Wal Mart, Sam's Club etc. So does he want them to get a 2nd job..

    42% of Maine Food Stamp recipients are already working... guess their "soul" is getting good.
