Mac keeps making plays like that TD rope to Bourne and there will be plenty of flash in his portfolio. That was a big boy play, on both ends.

Definitely. Stats matter too though. Mac most likely will have the efficient type numbers while leading us to victory while chase racks up the eye popping stats. Which dont get me wrong, I would take the apparent franchise qb anytime , but not sure how voters will sway

Barmore doesn't have the stats. If people voted solely on game film, he would definitely be in the discussion. But many people vote based on the stats and Barmore doesn't have them because the way the Pats use him.

After his 201 yard game he might have been on the verge of the league MVP conversation. He was the Bengals offense.

But if his team falls out of contention that opens the door wide for Mac to take this award.

Chase is a sexier player. Mac is doing this very workmanlike. No fancy plays, no plays that make you gasp. Just playing winning football. They can keep the ROY crap. Lets play deep in the playoffs.

QB's will always get an edge because of how difficult (and rare) it is for a rookie to play well right away. But Chase is on pace for over 1500 yards (just under if you think of it over 16 games for equal comparisons). Those are hard numbers to ignore.

Now, it's VERY possible (even likely) that Chase slows down as the long season wears on, the weather gets colder, and teams start to focus on him more. But right now, I agree he's got a slight edge over Mac.

WR is the easiest position in the game from a mental standpoint.....QB is the hardest

My statement with regards to Barmore wasn't that he'd be voted the actual award, but that he was the best defensive rookie the Patriots could have acquired.

“So really, the teams who draft well are the ones who will be consistently good. I don’t feel we’ve done the greatest job the last few years, and I really hope — and I believe — I’ve seen a different approach this year.”

OROY is a battle. I think it's between Mac, Chase & Slater with Jones slightly ahead actually. All three have been playing great for rookies but Jones has the biggest impact and that shouldn't escape voters.

Before the year I thought Mac would end up with 26-27/12 TD/INT ratio, 4200 and top 25 for ANY/A. He's on pace or not far off those #'s. If he hits them he'll be 1 of 5 QB's ever to throw for 4K+ while the Pats are in playoff contention. Again tough to ignore the obvious there but both Chase & Slater have been animals as well but I don't think an OL'm has ever won before. He's so good though.

Some others that deserve mention.

Harris - He could be the best back in the league with a little luck. Such a unique player.

Carter - I think we could of had him instead of Perkins but can't remember what the board looks like at the moment. I thought Carter was a perfect White replacement, complement to Harris. And now Rham. I had him slightly graded higher but we'll see what happens. I'm happy with Perk but Carter has been playing well though. Might be the best jete draft pick in 35 years

Smith & Waddle are both looking at or close to 1K seasons. Mia is a mess and Phila isn't exactly a well oiled machine but both are playing very well. Right at or slightly behind 600 yards, few TD's with shaky QB/OL play.

Creed Humphrey deserves mention. He's been great in all phases of the game. KC run game has been a huge disappointment imo but he's been outstanding all year.

Defensively Parsons is definitely ahead of the pack. He's as raw as Barmore and it shows but he's been really good and his flash plays jump off the screen. He's not lapping anyone but he's the clear cut frontrunner.

Oweh - he'll be a much better pro

Surtain - top 5 potential in a few years

JOK as advertised and better

Rousseau has been good

Samuel Jr instincts and T-step are just like his fathers.

Ojulari has been balling and deserves some love.

Newsome struggled at times yesterday but he's been really good this year.

Jamin Davis & Bolton look good.

Lot of prospects showing out but when you have 2 guys in both races it's pretty special.

Right and the different approach is to no longer draft conservatively just to fill needs, because they no longer have that type of team. The talent from six Super Bowls is gone.

Watching Herbert yesterday, he makes great throws and it's obvious what he is, but there were two touch passes when completions were needed that were ok, but not Mac Jones.

I’m having a hard time telling if you’re trolling, high, or just one of those people with a character issue who refuses to admit he’s wrong in the face of point blank, overwhelming evidence. In any event, I’m trying not to waste too much time with the first and third type of people. Then you persuaded me that I have time today.

I’ll make the most important part of the quote really big and really bold in case you’re just high right now. Here it is…

So here you have the owner of the team, involved in the day-to-day operations of the team, in meetings with the HC and GM, admitting, point blank, that the team hadn’t done a good job in the draft. Further, you have the team parting ways with Nick Caserio. Even further, you have BB, on camera, asking his scouts and personnel people prior to drafting Mac Jones, “everyone okay with this?”

That you’re trying to argue that the team has drafted poorly because they draft for need over BPA is comedy gold when you consider that you said, of yourself, that you “know the landscape better” than I do. I thank you for that laugh. At the end of the day, however, the owner of the team said the team hadn’t drafted well. Combined with the draft results from 2014-2020 and the early returns on this one, I think I’ll take his word over yours.

Now, stop this. You’re wrong. We’re all wrong sometimes. Just make peace with it and move on.
