Buster Olney was on ESPN last night saying that the Red Sox and Padres were having talks about sending Lowell to San Diego for pitching, he never gave names about who could be coming back, though. I would assume it would have to be a starter for a guy having as good a season as Lowell is.

Personally, I think this is just trade-deadline talk "Throw everything out there, something has to stick." But I figured it could be interesting to discuss.
 
I do not see it happening. The Sox have the best defensive infield in the game. That is not something you mess with...
 
the only way Lowell gets traded is if the Sox eat a huge chunk of his contract...i'd prefer they don't trade him, but...whatevah...

I don't see this happening. Lowell has too big a contract, plus if he goes who takes his place? Youk could move over, but then we don't have a 1st baseman. Our D is spectacular this year---let's not screw with it!
