the sox did what everybody thought they would do [except for efin98]today and dumped lugo. they have ten days to get a deal done[a bag of balls if they are lucky]or he will be out right released. efin98 come out come out where ever you are. don't cry take your sh!t sandwich like a man lol.

OK I didn't believe they would do it but they did. It's over. He's gone. They will either get something for him or buy out his contract or send him to the minors. Either way he's gone. Laugh it up like the a-hole you are

Didn't some minor leaguer get traded for some bats last year, I think that is about all you would get for Lugo. Just the fact that he can't be put into a game, makes the Sox a better team today than they were yesterday.

At long last, our long national nightmare is OVER!!!!!

You can start the mutual jerking off tonight

On to the next designated whipping boy, I think Smoltz is in the sights already

cry baby cry. i thought you schooled me with your stats? lmao . have you ever heard of scouts. they use there eyes.

We'll get crap for him but some team could end up with a decent 2nd base player if they need one. He's all done at short, his range is gone. He doesn't hit for enough power to be considered a 1st or 3rd base player.

Would I rather have Nick Green as the utility player ... absolutely because he is more used to coming off the bench than Lugo ... though Lugo better start getting used to it. Bye Lugo ... another steroid era player gone. I know .. no proof ... but I'll say it anyways ... his power numbers were an aberation ... chemically induced no less. Why Theo wanted him over O'Cab I will never understand. Cabrera was a clubhouse A-Hole but so what ... he could play ... guy was a dirt dog. Even A'Gon with his weak bat was better than Lugo.

buy out his contract? the second they signed lugi they owed him every penny of the contract. get a clue.

Julio Lugo Designated For Assignment By Red Sox - wbztv.com
Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein told WBZ Radio's Jonny Miller Friday signing Lugo was a mistake.

"Sometimes the best organizations admit their mistakes and move on, and that's what we're doing here."

"This was one of the free agent signings that didn't work out. We ended up paying for past performance, not current performance. That's the definition of a mistake and as the decision maker that's on me. We'll just move on."

THEO'S HEAD WAS UPHISASS ...many fans did not want Lugo ...
Theo was infatuated with the steroid numbers.

except hes said routinely that he will not play anything but SS, and he can't turn a double play, and he can't throw accurately.

I'll admit I thought Lugo would do well for the Sox when he was signed. I never thought he was worth that much money, but I figured he'd be hitting plenty of doubles off the wall and bat in the .280's, with 20 or 30 stolen bases. I seem to remeber him hitting fairly well in '04 and '05, especially against the Sox. In the field I thought he would be steady, not spectacular. Was never expecting a superstar, just a solid steady player.

Julio Lugo Statistics and History - Baseball-Reference.com

The only thing looking back that was probably over looked was the benefit of playing defense on the turf. Every bounce is true, your throw can be well short and bounce right up to the 1B; obviously that's not the case when you're not playing in a dome.

Oh well, time to move on.

i cant believe they actually got a player for him today . the cardinals must be really desperate.

Here's a picture of the guy playing the outfield.
