Would I rather have Nick Green as the utility player ... absolutely because he is more used to coming off the bench than Lugo ... though Lugo better start getting used to it. I'll admit I thought Lugo would do well for the Sox when he was signed. I never thought he was worth that much money, but I figured he'd be hitting plenty of doubles off the wall and bat in the .280's, with 20 or 30 stolen bases. I seem to remeber him hitting fairly well in '04 and '05, especially against the Sox. In the field I thought he would be steady, not spectacular. Was never expecting a superstar, just a solid steady player.

The only thing looking back that was probably over looked was the benefit of playing defense on the turf. Every bounce is true, your throw can be well short and bounce right up to the 1B; obviously that's not the case when you're not playing in a dome.
