Barring Stidham somehow duplicating brady it is. A new era has begun. Doesn’t mean we’ll be bad but no more entering each season as an automatic sb contender and doubtful we’ll be team of the decade again. I still expeCt moderate success, hopefully we can be like the giants/ravens/broncos moving forth and be reasonably successful, maybe a title or 2 a decade as long as bb is around and im sure the next coach will be a solid replacement knowing the coaches kraft has brought in. Which id be totally happy with. Brady did quite a bit of carrying especially on the last 3 rings. With one half of the goat combo gone you can still expect success but not the same rate.

So you're the one to blame for the most worn-out thing on this site?

Given how much you people like running **** into the ground we're going to be getting comedy RLKAG responses for at least the next 8 years.

A great football team is never about 1 player. The Patriots have coaching continuity and many 2 or 3-ring veterans, coming off a 12-4 season where our offensive weapons were greatly diminished but should bounce back. They'll continue to be in the hunt for Lombardi's, but let's give 'em a year to transition.

Just being clear. You believe that it will be another 40 years before the patriots organization can win another SB.

    Thanks for clarifying.

Maybe those who believe that only Sb's are the only important factor will be gone, and go to teams that have a chance. [Well they would be if they agreed with you].

I'm not going to worry about the next SB win unless I hear that Kraft has decided to do a Gillette make-over ... bringing back the aluminum benches. Then we'll know the big red reset button has been pressed.

Not even sure there will be football this fall.. much of this discussion is premature..

There is enough confidence in BB/Coaches/Front Office that the excellence we have seen for the past 19 years will continue..

I dislike talking about it but yes, I think that touchdown to gronk against the Rams was the end of all that. I’m not saying we won’t make the playoffs or be a good team. I’m just saying that everything changes eventually

Not until they actually are not winning.

It's not really probable that Stidham can step right in and keep firing, but until he's actually failed to keep the dynasty alive, it's still going in my book.

He didn't score a TD on that play. But he did get down to the 2 yard line though.

Interesting question. It was an amazing 19 year run, very well summarized by farn's post.

I think it is. Belichick will always field a competitive team, but losing Brady (it was bound to happen soon anyway, either leave or retirement), the team loses a major amount of that championship personality. Teams always knew, the game was never fully over until the final whistle, they always knew they weren't safe with Brady on the Pats. It was always in the back of their minds that Brady could break their hearts with a comeback. They don't have that aspect anymore.

I'm sure the AFC East competitors are walking on egg shells as far as saying so, but I'm sure they are thinking about the Brady factor. I'm sure they are thinking they finally have a chance to take away the AFC East from the Pats. The good thing, as far as this year, is the Pats still have a good team with a decent amount of talent, and the greatest coach of all time, so it may be a dog fight, but I think the Pats can still win the AFC East THIS year. Not a Super Bowl contender, but possibly get as far as last year (one and done).

But I think it's done because of coaching defections, losing Brady, and poor drafting. Only way it continues, is if the 2019-2020 draft picks pans out. That will be a major factor. I like the potential of a lot of those picks, now it's a matter if they actually reach their potential, if they do, there could be a potential for a 3rd dynasty. Also, next offseason, the team has a ton of cap space, that could go a long way into having a potential 3rd dynasty as well. Lots of IFS, everything has to fall into place.

Yes I do...Little Billy's meal ticket just walked out the door, and his crap drafts will now be exposed for all the world to see...

Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not going anywhere, except probably to Hell...

If they make the playoffs this year, then do it again next year but advance further than this season...dynasty talk is permitted....but if we see a couple of 6-8 wins seasons and no playoffs, kaput
