You're... you're a Patsfans.com legend now... <dabs away a wistful tear>
It's most likely dead. I know a lot of people on here think QB's like Brady grow on trees and it's a simple "next man up", but that's unrealistic.
We would be lucky if Stidum is at least decent and keeps the Pats somewhat competitive.
I will laugh myself into the hospital if the Patriots promptly replace Tom Brady with another quality QB and go win another title.
Sadly I don't think that's likely.
The problem is that quality quarterbacks are just hard to find in general, for everybody, and that's been true for as long as the Patriots have existed. Getting Brady was an absolutely insane stroke of luck. You can't assume that they can just do it again.
Belichick can do a lot with a little, but he can't make titles out of nothing. At some point you need a player who can go out there and DO IT, otherwise even the greatest gameplan is just a list of things that won't happen.
Look at Belichick's own QB drafts. Since Brady he's taken 10 QBs. 3 were at least plausible NFL players (Garoppolo, Cassel, Brissett), 6 had essentially zero value to anyone, and the 10th is Stidham who is TBD. Using a very generous definition of "hit" that's still twice as many misses as hits.
I don't care about "dynasty building" anymore with Brady gone. I am happy BB/Brady won six...we will always have that.
I now see it as a new blank canvas.....gonna be fun....I say just win some games...and see where we are in a few years.
Your question can’t be answered with our opinion. Dynasties are only determined by record. So that means we have to wait and see how it goes.
I was disappointed you only offered two answers in your poll
Nope BB is still running the show. If he left and Josh leads them to a SB with Stid Vicious then it's still a dynasty.
Thousands of years from now there will be history textbooks that say "Records from the late twentieth century-early twenty first century are sparse but fragments that were recovered refer to a "Patriots Dynasty" ruled by a King Bellicjick but other historians disagree saying there is evidence that King Brady ruled during that era although some postulate Brady was a goat which was worshipped by the local population.
What other options would you have liked to have seen? This is a debate I've been having with my brothers ever since Brady left. Personally, I think that the dynasty era ended with Brady leaving, and anything that happens after this is a new era. This group seems to be as split as we are though; my brothers think that it continues as long as the team is successful under Belichick (regardless of QB).
People's heads are gonna explode if they go 11-5 or better with Stid, and he becomes Mahomes Lite or some chit like that. Then Bill steps down and Josh takes over and the train keeps rolling.
It seems like people have really gone off that one season in 2008. A team that still had a prime randy moss and Wes walker. A team that ran the football very well. This team in 2020 is nothing like that team. I expect something like 6-10 or 7-9.
I actually interpreted the thread as "will we win more Super Bowls to continue our dynasty?"
The question of "if we do win more Super Bowls, does it count as the start of a new dynasty" is a lot more interesting actually.
If you define the Dynasty as beginning in 2001, then it's over. It was the Belichick-Brady era.
For me, the dynasty started the day Kraft bought the team. That dynasty could continue if we find a quarterback.
Pats have as good a chance of winning another SB as I do of winning MegaBucks...and I don't play MegaBucks.
Yeah you're probably right...but I'll be holding my nose, with the sound Off, while I do...
Interesting attempt by Football Outsiders to define dynasties and then rank them:

By their definition there have indeed been multiple QB dynasties, notably SF 1981-1998 and Dallas 1966-1985.
Well thought out and worth a read.
If he didn’t win this year or next year and then won a SB we’d be saying it’s part of the dynasty. Too premature to say anything
The dynasty has moved to Tampa.
Yeah the 08 defense was worse and not by only a little bit compared to today. This team is a great running team if healthy as they showed in the run to the SB in 18. They were not healthy in 19. I expect great things this year. Schedule is tougher than 08 for sure. Sticking with my 9-7 prediction.
And if this team is bad without Brady then they were bad with him if he stayed. Brady is no longer a QB that can take a sub par team and turn them into a champion by himself.
Thank you for participating in my hypothetical thought experiment.
You think that the patriots will NEVER win another Super Bowl not in 10 years? or in 20 years?
Separate names with a comma.
