    I'm sure you and I have many disagreements in spending priorities, but I wonder how much we disagree when it comes to spending money on American history.

    That said, the presidential libraries are not just about history and record keeping, but also about keeping alive the intellectual foundations that made each president a success or failure. What the Democrats established for the Kennedy library is something the Republicans have been trying to do with the Reagan library, which has received millions in federal monies over the years. The Kennedy library, though, I think has been the most visible one of them all.
