I aint saying that it will happen, but if this season plays out like I believe that it will Bobbys blood pressure will be rising.

Lets face the music? Some crazy things have already happened. Patricia is now the OC. Stevie Belichick is basically free to run amok. The Pats best CB is gone and the run defense was already an issue.

Moreover, Edelman is joining his BFF in Tampa. JE will approach the Pats about returning, but BB has moved on with a core 5 of Thornton, Parker, Bourne, Agahlor and Meyers. Harry is the only spot open, but the Pats always seem to keep a young low cost prospect WR like Wilkerson. There is simply no room. JE is not the future and why would you sink money in a player who would take limited snaps at best? JE does not move the needle in my eyes.

So, you have Brady, Gronk and Edelman. 3 former Pats players who BB let go and have all reunited playing together in Tampa, Florida. I see Tampa making the playoffs and give them a better than favorable shot at representing the NFC in the Superbowl. The NFC is very weak and very few teams stand in Tampas way. Buffalo is my AFC representative. If the Bills do not go back to the Superbowl this season they never will. Bobbys team didnt make it and as you can imagine he is none too happy about that alone, then add insult to injury Brady, Gronk and Edelman are there.

Now I believe that this is where the story takes a curve. The Bills win the Superbowl. All the talk for weeks will be about Brady the GOAT and # 8. He owns the Bills. The Bills will be receiving little to no respeck. We saw what an NFL team from the AFCE did in 2001 that nobody respected. Every dog has his day and curses do not last forever.

That would require something like a 6-11 finish and a variety of things would have to go wrong for it to come close to reaching that point. I don't quite know why we're talking about firing Belichick when the pieces are in place for a fairly good season. I understand the questions about the coaching staff, but I'm surprised people aren't a little more optimistic given the fact we've got Jones, who was solid last year and was great in OTAs, along with the addition of Parker with a receiving corps that isn't exactly horrible.

But under the scenario you're referring to, things would have to go badly off the rails for Kraft to consider a change and I feel like he would interfere with things before firing Bill completely. But let's try and be a little optimistic heading into next month. WAY too early to be this pessimistic ;)

If Edelman could pass a physical, and the money worked out, Belichick would absolutely sign him. But I'm not sure Edelman can do the former.

I don’t see any situation Belichick gets straight up fired. At most what could happen is Kraft brings in a general manager to “advise” on player moves.

This thread is laughable. The Pats looked like the best team in the AFC at one point last year. Then their elderly defense started getting hurt. Mac probably hit a rookie wall and he may have even been pretty hurt. He got steamrolled more than once.

I expect Pats to easily go deeper into the playoffs. They got faster and younger at every position

I don't see any way that Bill doesn't bring Edelman back if he passes a physical. Dude is exceptionally talented and knows the offense inside and out. Obviously the concern is durability but I'm sure Bill would manage his snaps. The question I have is 1) the money and 2) whose roster spot he takes. Bourne / Parker / Agholor / Meyers / Thornton ahead of him... Edelman could be an insanely good sixth guy, though I could also see him take Meyers' job if they also wanted to keep a guy like Nixon. They could trade Meyers for a 5th or something, gain $4M in cap space and not have to worry about Meyers' impending free agency - though obviously you're now paying Edelman and he doesn't have a lot of time left either so you'd have to hope someone like Nixon will develop with time.

Kraft would have really dive deep into some syphallus brain to suddenly fire Belichick.

Outside of Mac, there's very little clout on the Patriots. There are a few stud names, but nobody who keeps asses in seats. This team under another coach would be wildly less successful on the field, wildly less profitable, and that's all an owner cares about.

I agree, and I think the only time Edelman might be signed would be in January to fill in for someone who we lost to injury. Aside from that, I just don't see it and I definitely feel like he wouldn't be able to play 17 games, even if they managed his snaps.

I can tell this thread is going to trigger a lot of people.

This is a valid concern if both Steve and Matt struggle.

I agree that Bill has probably moved on from JE. The problem with the 2019 offense was that JE and White were featured far too often. They lacked any big plays and drives took forever which caused someone to eventually mess up (which is their philosophy on D). In addition, if JE returns, he will be force fed the ball again which will hold back the rest of the offense. We need bigger plays. I just don’t think he fits in at this point of his career. Let Tom deal with him.
So, you have Brady, Gronk and Edelman. 3 former Pats players who BB let go and have all reunited playing together in Tampa, Florida.
I do think this board turn on JE if he goes to Tampa and especially if they win another Super Bowl.
I see Tampa making the playoffs and give them a better than favorable shot at representing the NFC in the Superbowl. The NFC is very weak and very few teams stand in Tampas way.
Rams vs Bucs in the NFCCG. Weakest conference I’ve ever seen.
Buffalo is my AFC representative.
I agree. Chiefs vs Bills in the AFCCG. However, both teams are mortal and have major weaknesses on both sides of the ball.
If the Bills do not go back to the Superbowl this season they never will.
They could be the next McNabb-Reid Eagles.

Exactly. You can't make any kind of a reasonable prediction until the 1st half is over in the first preseason game.

What does Tampa have anything to do with Belichick getting fired?

And no Tampa is not going to skate to a Super Bowl win. Their schedule is incredibly difficult and they could end up going 10-7, especially with a former Jete HC at the helm. So just relax.

Bill doesn't care about names. He cares about performance. The teams that do care about names are the ones that win 1 super bowl and then fall apart.

If the Patriots struggle I don’t see a firing but a Bill going to coach Lacrosse then Patricia or Obrein getting the nod for Head Coach.
