To hear them talk a couple years ago, we would never be able to survive
the the loss the nostradamus of pitch calling Jason Varitek.

Funny thing... Our pitching is actually better without Tek.

It is also nice to see a base runner think twice before stealing 2nd base.
When old noodle arm "Tek" was behind the plate, a walk became a double.

I did have memories of Tek in watching Salty hit in the playoffs.

geez let it go already. you have been going on and on about tek for years. hes gone he was a excellent catcher while he was here.

The way I look at it if even Salty can call a decent game, it's more on the pitchers than the catchers. Although if you noticed we saw nothing but Aaron Ross after Salty made the costly throwaway to 3rd that resulted in the obstruction call in game 3 of the World Series.

I'd like to see McCann here IF he can still play the defensive catcher position for at least the next 3-4 years. He is likely going to demand 5/75 though. Yadier Molina money, and I'm not sure the Sox are ready to pay when they have Lavarnway and others waiting in the pipeline.

the sox made salty a 2 year contract offer worth less than ten million. he still might be back.
