Think about it... It didn't register with me until now, if the Patriots win does your off approach to the off season ?

At first glance I say No, but digging deeper maybe guys like Welker fit less if the team wins this year. If they lose then next year becomes a classic load up the wagon and go for it all year.

1 ~ How in #$%& does Welker "fit" less based on whether or not we win this year???

2 ~ Wasn't the Goal to win it all???

3 ~ How in the name of GOD would accomplishing that...change anyone's offseason approach???

If they win then may be able to think a few years out as opposed to "Go for broke"

Just a thought drawn from boredom, personally in the NFL there is never much of a long-term. Each year is unique, man are we lucky to have the Patriots. 7 Championships in 11 years.. wow.

Might make us throw all of our chips in. Even moreso. No qb and coach have ever won 5 Super Bowls. Belichick and Brady could surpass Bradshaw/Noll and TFB can surpass Montana with a 5th. Joe's 4th was with Seifert.

Fair enough, Sir.

My answer would be: Mad Bill always thinks a few years out.

He never shoots'is load for one year.

And that is indeed a Blessing, my good man: It is precisely why we've been The YardStick By Which All Others Are measured for 12 amazing years.

The Patriots should have an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" offseason strategy and resign all their key players no matter what happens.

A bit impractical, perhaps, but I like the thrust of your argument.

at the end of the day you have to look at what you have, i dont think one game shapes the way you build your team
