Hypothetical question. Would you rather have Tom Brady or Mac Jones going into the 2022 season.?

If Mac was cool for sitting a year while watching and learning from Brady...then Brady. We all know that will never happen, so I'm looking at the horizon and am ready to see what Mac can become.

For the 2022 season, Brady is the far safer bet. But would I trade Jones and his future potential for Brady for just one season? I am not sure.

In the absence of any salary cap issues, Brady, obviously

But then there is this real world issue of fitting a salary somewhere north of 25M into the cap.

That makes the choice a bit tougher, considering the choice would be 1) to let a lot of talent go or 2) play shenanigans to move lots of cap dollars into the future and assure that another "2020, payback for past cap splurges" hits us down the road.

Tom Brady so he can be forced to throw to Harry.

Maybe Tampa will pick him up after we release him trade for him... Mac gets Godwin in Free Agency, we get a 3rd, & Tom gets a now veteran N'Keal Harry for a low low price... sounds fair to me...

The past is the past. We can argue and debate as to whether or not the Patriots would have been better in 2020 and 2021 if they had reached and agreement with Tom to keep him here. But they didn't and he left.

So with that being said, going into 2022, knowing everything we know right now, would you rather be the Patriots with Jones, or Tampa with Brady?
Knowing what we know now?

No because now we know Tom wasn't happy.

Why bother?

Brady. Easily.
Agreed. He would have been back in the NFC Championship Game (and winning it against his old pal, Jimmy G IMO) if it wasn't for his defense forgetting they had to play the last 45 seconds of regulation. Mac played well for a rookie this year, but at the end of the year he was just a rookie. Brady brought his team back yesterday. Mack couldn't even sniff at doing the same last week.

Right??

Do we miserable mopey 8-0 Tom who couldn't wait to get out of here or The Kid? The question is better poised in a vacuum. Do we want Happy Tommy who wants to be here or The Kid? Well, that's a no-brainer.

To be fair if it wasn't for Cam Akers it could and should have been 34-3 in the 3rd Quarter i.e. last 45 seconds only really mattered because the Rams were trying to choke.

Knowing what we know now about Brady's contract going forward, any questions about Brady's performance this year and next year. This isn't to look back. If Tampa said tomorrow we will trade Tom Brady straight up for Mac Jones would you do it.

Little difference either way to be honest.

Brady makes that Hyde pick a td in the bills game, but we still lose…

we beat Dallas in OT or don’t even go with Brady, we still go second place in division.

we still get eaten up by KC, BUF in the Playoffs.

with either guy, you have to gut your defense, putting back building other areas for some time

however, one of those two qbs won’t be a locker room cancer while you do it…

do y’all not forget the man tried to put his store in the stadium? Like do you understand how narcissistic that is?

dont y’all complain about ladavioandre and the other millennials/genzers putting furthering their brands over the team?

Cute. A little better overall trolling result than last time.
