HBO Inside the NFL is doing a segment on true diehard fans and this week's fan feature is "Zip", Randy Pierce. Many of you here know or at least know of Zip who was the 2001 Patriots Fan of the Year. It also includes a rather extensive interview with Bruschi and seeing how a player feels about a fan (and vice-versa) such as Zip is quite heartwarming.

Fan Life #4

If you are reading this post after they've already moved on to the #5 episode you can get the podcast on iTunes.

Zip is an incredibly inspirational man and I have been very fortunate to tailgate with him and his great dog Quinn. Please check this video out and I believe that you too will be feel a little prouder to be a fellow Pats fan.

This gets a sticky. (Wiping away a tear).

Wow, great find.
ZIP, more power to you dude!

Excellent! I thought about asking for that but I thought I'd see what kind of reaction it got and let what happens happen.

Yes, as dog lover and I too found some "dust" suddenly making my eyes tear up just a bit.

Way to go ZIP

hmmm... the wording is suspiciously similar...

If it's agreeable, I'm going to leave Brenjetsfan's thread (yup, very similar wording to SoCalBongs's - I guess great minds think alike? ) here also, because some folks tend to skip the sticky's and go straight to the non-sticky posts.

This deserves as much attention as possible and, if it's on the show tomorrow night, it is time sensitive.

BTW, will this actually be ON the HBO show tomorrow night, or is it just for their website? I'd be interested to see Costas', Collinsworth's, etc. reactions to the piece.

I'm 99% positive that it is only for HBO.com and not for Inside the NFL. I was at the party they filmed (been friends with Zip for years and live right down the street from him) and I believe it was clear that it was for the website only.

Still it's a great video, having known Ostend (his last dog before Quinn) it brought a little mist to my eyes at one point.

Re: Way to go ZIP

Yeah I agree. I often overlook sticky threads as I don't expect them to change much.

I think I know why its my same wording; I posted the same thing on a couple of Yahoo Groups last night so I'm sure it was just a copy & paste which is completely fine.

I agree that this should get all the exposure it can. I don't have HBO but I would have to think that it would be on the show this week.

When I first found it on iTunes last night, the website still had #3 (Raiders "Violator") on the website and it appears to be a weekly segment so it should be on the website until next Monday.

It is a true lifetime experience to 'tailgate' at Zip's house. Great food and company. Much easier to watch a tight game surrounded by fans who understand the game and how Belichick coaches a close one.

And THIS guide dog (Quinn) does not snarf muffins!

Re: Way to go ZIP

Thanks so much for posting this link. It lends the most important perspective to our game and passions.

Plus, her Avatar and sig pictures are phenomenal...

Fantastic film...what a guy...makes you feel truly humble...also makes you proud to be a Patriot.

Nice video. You rock Zip!

I let Randy know about this thread and have been sharing some of the responses. His screen reader software doesn't work well with message boards otherwise he'd be here himself but he does get email just fine and he invited anyone who wants to contact directly to do so.
