Johnson was the #3 receiver behind Brown and Patten in 2001 run that started it all

RIP. Gone way too soon.

I am turning into such a geezer I don't even remember him.

14/111, 1TD in the 2001 season.

2/22 in the AFC title game @Pittsburgh....otherwise most of his production came between weeks 6-11 of that season.

For comparison, Antowain Smith and Marc Edwards had more targets and receptions. He had similar number of targets/receptions as Terry Glenn, Jermaine Wiggins, and J.R. Redmond.

That was a very diverse offense with many guys stepping up here and there.....including guys like Fred "Boom Boom" Coleman.

R.I.P.

Gil's call, Charles can be seen at the 17 second mark. It's worth the click to go over to you tube. I still get choked up listening to Gil call it. What a thrill for him to do that after all those years.

Godspeed Charles.

I can't believe I still have no memory of the poor guy, unlike now where I really don't follow all the players I did back then.
Will i still be allowed to post here with missing memory?
Time to make out my own personal Terminal List?

Somewhere I have a pic of him at the Patriots families hotel the afternoon before the big game. We wondered into the hotel because we noticed it had a Patriots presence and we had some time to kill before an event we were going to. And to our surprise there were several members of the team in the lobby and bar area. Got pictures of Willie, Cox, and Seymour too all from a distance on disposable cameras. We didn't bother any of them as they were with their families.

Pats played most Super Bowls at the Superdome in history, going 1-2.

May very well have played a fourth in 1978, if not for the Dreith robbery the previous year, and the OL holdout.

But I doubt they would have won. Despite the additions of Morgan and Clayborn, the Patriots would not have been able to contain the Cowboys' pass rush, or Dorsett. The defense slipped after '76, and scheming could not make up for the lack of a dominant star up front.

A fifth was very possible in '80, but the team found incredible ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Grogan limped out with two bad knees, while Lazarus Plunkett took Oakland all the way.
