Liked the Witcher. Definitely has some potential to get better.

Anybody watched the amazon series “the boys?” Brother keeps getting me to watch it but have been putting it off. An offset look at super heroes?

@Ice_Ice_Brady I finally figured out why Snook is so bang-able.

She’s got one of the nicest, fattest asses I’ve ever seen. And they always get it on camera.

The constant and confusing four (FOUR!) different time period hop around is what’s turning me off. I’m heavy on the medicinal cannabis. I don’t have the patience to play those kinds of games.

I’ve watched the first three episodes and I think it’s okay-to-good. My wife likes it. I’m just a bit leery of yet another predictable SK story, especially after recently watching Castle Rock and NOS4A2 (technically his son, but there’s a ton of help from his dad, and a lot of ripping off the concepts that you spoke of).

I might like it more because I haven’t read or seen a new SK story in years. Ripping off SK’s work is basically the modern horror genre. Stranger Things is such a ripoff that it’s almost comical.

Also that she may just be cool enough to casually bang with zero consequences or drama...based on that character.

I really really liked the 1st episode. It's just I'm plowing through so many things right now that I haven't gone back to it.

It's pretty cynical and pretty gory. The tone is pretty similar to Deadpool. It also borrowed a storyline from one of my favorite Image comics. Definitely not a waste of your time.

    Anyone else watch Happy! ?

I really liked Season 1 especially one memorable scene which was an obvious Tarantino reference. Haven't looked at S2 yet I just really hope it doesn't end on a cliffhanger since it got canceled.

Amongst many productions about superheroes "The Boys" and "Watchmen" definitely stand alone.
If I have to describe "The Boys" I would say it is gory, toying with emotions and the plot is very interesting. IT is not a typical action movie I'd rather say IT is a dramma set up in the world full of superhumans.
    Both oft I highly recommend.

How does The Outsider only have 79% on RT from the critics? I’m only 2/3 of the way through the first episode and I am thoroughly intrigued and entertained.

I just finished Ep5 of The Outsider.
@Ice_Ice_Brady and @supafly may agree that it pulls you in but I don’t want to spoil it for you. It took a different path than I was thinking coming out of Ep 1.

Thanks. I plan to get caught up this weekend. I’m building a deck and fire pit in my backyard and should be able to finish it off by today so I can relax tomorrow and get up to speed.

I didn’t realize 5 is out yet and am through 4.

I suspect you may be referring to the change of direction from true crime to the supernatural. That’s what I’m expecting, given it is SK. He very rarely stays completely out of that realm and imo does it better than anyone else, which is why he’s so popular. Given its HBO, I’m hope they can maintain the character focused-plot...SK adaptations fail when they focus too much on thrills and scares. There is always a massive psychological element to SK’s plots that needs to be followed, and it’s challenging for the writer and director to adapt it to the screen.

I’ll check it it tonight. Thanks.

IMDB episode ratings have it getting progressively worse with each episode. If you are looking for a true crime/detective type of story, the first couple of episodes are in that genre, but after that is starts to deviate into a more classic King story with supernatural elements. I’m guessing a lot of people were disappointed it took that course. I just watched E5 and still very much like it.

The way it is filmed in a David Fincher/True Detective type of dark reality makes it worth a watch for me.

I just assumed the true crime element wouldn’t be the only focus because that isn’t King’s forte. The question I have at this point is if it can toe the line with the supernatural and realism or if it’s just going to get off the rails stupid. I’ve seen it go both ways with King’s stuff adapted to film/tv. @PittPatriot

Oh no, dude. I bought my house before we got married and have been doing projects on it for years. Good stress reliever to smoke an ungodly amount of sativa and get my hands dirty. She has grown a garden out back and I’m not doing a god damn thing to help with that. Gardening isn’t my thing.
