if you like the clean amazing operatic sound, listen to Roy Khan from Kamelot. He's a trained opera singer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoiAFy38Bg4 => earlier Roy Khan era Kamelot live song. Probably from 1998 when he first joined. Not even close to his best, but still pretty good.

http://www.kamelot.com/mp3/Ne_Pleure_Pas.mp3 => an outtake of a ballad in french.

Axl Rose and Steven Tyler. . .Big fan of both bands, but I love the uniqueness off their voices. I've also really gotten into Johnny Cash lately. And I appreciate other people's love for Freddie Mercury- he was definitely a talent gone way before his time. . .

As far as pure vocal talent, I love Michael Crawford, the original Phantom of the Opera. The man can give me goosebumps

I have a man crush on Roy Khan still i think. He should be on broadway as a lead. UGH

He's easily the best singer, at least since 1998, in rock/country and is better than most of the best pop guys. He may release a jazz/pop album sometime soon though.

He can make any group sound good, it's so amazing. I wonder what he sounded like when he was learning opera in Norway.

My favorites, in no particular order:
    Axel Rose
    Freddie Mercury
    Bon Scott
    Brad Delp (Boston)
    Robert Plant
All three singers from Three Dog Night

The most interesting singer to me is Chris Cornell from Soundgarden and Audioslave. Cornell has an awesome range and a great sound that many don't appreciate.

Mandy Lion...easily one of the best. World War III singer.

the late Ray Gillen (r.i.p.)...Black Sabbath's best singer by far.

    J. Mann...MushroomHead's extremely talented X-lead singer. Now focusing on his record label. This guy is AWESOME!!!!

    Glenn Danzig...very unique voice.

Peter Steele...Type O Negative mastermind. Hard to beat his voice.

Andrew Eldritch...Sisters Of Mercy mastermind. King of all goth bands. Listen to the song "Marian - version" to realize.

I hate the guy...I met him before...but as far as strong voice...Philip Anselmo...Pantera's most visible vocalist. Motherphucker has major lungs. Not the most talented--but his lung power is amazing.

The guy for Rammstein I like. I think his name is Till????

Patrick Lachman is actually pretty good...Damage Plan???? He was supposed to be Layne Staley's replacement for Alice In Chains. Jerry is a dumb bunny for trying to revive AIC. I have talked about this for countless hours with Layne's best friend...cannot believe this crap.

Sean from London After Midnight has a very good voice. Easily one of the most UNDERRATED bands in HISTORY!!!! You are doing yourself a HUGE disservice if you DON"T CHECK THIS BAND OUT!!!!

    1. John, Paul, or George (all three together was as good as it gets)
    2. Bono ( I remember how he stood out in "Let them know its XMAS time....
"well tonight thank god its them instead of you...."
    3. Sting
    4. Pete Townsend ( something about first seeing the video "Eminence Front" on MTV and thinking they are so much better when hes singing)

My all-time favorite is Jim Morrison of the Doors. One singer who has a tremendous voice but gets little recognition is Geoff Tate of Queensryche.
