The first two Die Hards aren't as Christmas-y as others on this list. They're both set during Christmas with decorations, music, and random Christmas references strewn in. The girlfriend came with a family tradition of watching them on Christmas so I now view them as Christmas movies.

Never heard of any of these. Are they usually aired on TV?

The Homecoming was the first Walton special.
Christmas in Connecticut is on TY all the time esp. on Xmas eve.
Beyond Tomorrow is a 1940 simple little movie.
The Lemon Drop Kid is a Bob Hope movie from the 50's.
The House Without a Christmas Tree is a 70's TV movie staring Jason Robards.

I'm a huge movie fan esp. the older ones, the oldest Christmas movie I seen was from 1896 a little 10 minute movie but was very interesting.

There's a new horror film coming out Christmas Day called "Black Christmas." There's also a Santa slasher film called "Santa's Slay." (No intentions to see that or "Black Christmas.")

Anyone here mention "Bad Santa" yet? Pretty funny.

I'll throw in a few good ones I haven't seen mentioned yet

"The Hudsucker Proxy" - one of the best movies no one's ever heard of... though, no offense, you have to be a bit intelligent to understand some of the humor and references. It's a Cohen Brothers movie - Raising Arizona, Fargo etc... and one of their better ones

Tim Robbins, Paul Newman - all give great whimsical performances. Very funny, holiday (new year's) feel good movie for the whole family.

Also "29th Street" - Anthony LaPaglia, Danny Aiello. Think of it as "Goodfella's" meets "It's a Wonderful Life" (Pauly Walnuts from the Sopranos even makes an appearance)

Again - surprisingly good movie about an Italian American family in NYC in the mid 1970s - so lots of nostalgia, and a surprise feel good ending ... all based on a true story.

In fact, interesting Trivia - The real Frank Pesce (the main character in the story), the first winner of the NY State Lottery, plays his own brother, Vito Pesce in the movie.

Speaking of "Goodfella's" and Christmas - Here's "Raging Rudolph" from Mad TV for your viewing enjoyment

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvWVzjBfrn0

I highly recommend watching both of these movies - you won't be disappointed.

In terms of the more "known" movies, I do very much enjoy Bill Murray's take on Scrooge in "Scrooged"
