It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Hey guys, Since this is my first draft on this site, I was just wondering if this is a spoiler free site or do some people post spoilers on here? Nothing worse than the pick being up waiting to hear it and someone spoils it first. ugh.
IOK, I'll state the obvious. If Mallett is gone (for whatever), who would the replacement be that Belichick would trust as a backup?
?In years past, despite being told by numerous people to stop doing it, people have still posted spoilers.
ESPN often shows reactions of players on their phones before the pick is announced. Here? Who here has the connections to spoil a pick, assuming we're watching live? We might guess and occasionally be right, but I doubt anybody tips picks here.

Exactly. I think the operating theory is that Belichick then spends a high pick on a quarterback. But this doesn't leave us any better off, and potentially worse. What good is an extra pick if you're now forced to use it to fill the hole you've just created? I
What Hammer of Thor said. They could be getting the next three to four years of backup QB for free basically (aside from wages). and if the rumours of them liking Savage or Glennon are right, then things work out even better. They pretty much have to use a pick on a QB anyway, this gives us the extra pick to do it.Exactly. I think the operating theory is that Belichick then spends a high pick on a quarterback. I understand that, but unless there's something going on with Brady, it's curious. They need to replace Mallett, not Brady, or they be in this same position again, so as you say, they would need to be confident that a quarterback in this draft is going to be a superstar and be willing to get no return on a high pick for a number of years. It makes more sense to have Mallett for the year and take a comp pick, or to trade him during the pre-season, after BB knows he has a capable alternative, and another team may realize they're up a creek and pay more. The advantage is that they have this new QB on a rookie deal for 4 (maybe 5) years. Otherwise, they have Mallet for 2014 only, and there is no way he would resign here - he'd want a chance to start - and if he did, it would be at a much higher cap charge. They may like one of the QBs in this draft that much, and don't want to risk being forced into drafting a QB next year when they may not like anyone, or signing a high priced vet as a backup.
Ok, a few tweets after Curran mentioned the Mallet trade he sent out a tweet wondering if Tebow could be coming back because a recent video of him working with Trent Dilfer "looked good."
Let's all just agree Curran is trying to get some clicks and views and move along.
League source says the buzz is real about the #Patriots and #Texans talking Mallett trade, as @tomecurran reported
There is no deal between the Patriots and the Texans for Ryan Mallett. But the interest from Houston and Bill O’Brien is real.
