Okay, since this isn't in the PatsFans league, I have a question:

I drafted Welker in another league, where we award kick/punt return yards.

The question: I saw in the "warmup" game (game 3, preseason) stats, that Welker had 0 returns for 0 yards, and that Hobbs had some return duties.

I always assumed Welker was a lock at least as the kick return guy. Am I still right about this?

Thanks

I assume he'l be doing both kicks and punts. He saw more starter duties because of injuries at WR and in the preseason they don't like to overwork players. Welker is a great 3rd WR option and possibly a sleeper #2. Brady loves his slot WR. As long as you didn't reach for him you shouldn't be disappointed.

I thought he would be the guy as well, but now I think just for punt returns, which is less valuable than kickoff returns.

Well, on the bright side you should still see many catches in the slot, does you league reward a point per reception?

Nope, no points per reception... but I'll keep him until/unless waiver wire fodder looks really good. I'm not sure Welker won't blow up in reception yardage too... as a guy you decide not to cover with a corner.
