If we had a healthy Hightower and McClellin, no doubt we pull off the win on Sunday, IMO.
I don't want to get personal, and for the love of God, woulda-shoulda-coulda is half of what fans do.
But seriously - this is not meant as a slight, more as a possible methodological change - think of what happens to your thinking if you do not pose counterfactuals as absolutes.
For example, if in these posts you think a healthy Hightower and McClellin would make a win
more likely. It's the same point I kept making about the puzzling MB benching.
One other place I think I saw something a little more egregious, about all your predictions coming true. Then you said you outlined everything they should have done ahead of time, they didn't do them, and they lost.
This does not establish that what you said they should have done would have been more successful. You've got correlation, not causality.
Like I said, you don't have to think that way - after all, it's pretty boring and humble and non-fanlike. So I get if you don't. But for me, personally, this is a missing link. Sometimes I like what you say, but then I see things like the one noted above, and I go "huh?"
We missed each's skill sets all year. It is what it is. I am proud of the way these guys battle.
See, I'm with you here.
Any other franchise, and its 9-7 or 8-8, something like that. Brady gives us maybe 2 wins in there, so 10-6, maybe 11-5, but 13-3 is really amazing considering the injuries and retirements, etc.
Tend to agree, but allergic to counterfactuals.
Pats will simply be right back in the title game next year.
For whatever reason, the odd seasons, 2009-2017, we have awful luck with injuries.
Next year is an even year, so we'll probably win it all. lmao
LOL very small data set (regarding injuries). In terms of predictions, always a fool's errand, for quite some time the Pats being right back in it has been a good bet.
It's a good time to be alive and be a Pats fan my brother... that's damn near the only conclusion I can reach! (Sucks to lose the big one... but it's not like it felt in 2007-8.)
If we're ever close to 16-0 again, I know I'll get caught up in it. But losing that one sucked so very hard.
