Exactly! I've only seen highlights too, but nobody has ever been able to tell me why he was good. He was, as a pro, a loser.
I use Archie Manning as a textbook example of a coach/QB/player/whatever that would never survive half as long as he did if he played today and it blows my mind that he lasted as long as he did.

He won 13 games in his first 4 years. He went 1-15 in year 8, and was brought back for year 9. He is 3rd all time on the list of most losses but outside the top 100 in most wins. It is mind numbing that there was a day and age where fans would just sit back while this guy took the field for roughly a decade.

I have no doubt that part of the settlement terms were that she is forbidden from discussing the incident.

That's correct. However, she may have something actionable now that Archie and the boys recounted these incidents in their book. That whole "non commenting" clause went the way of all things when the Mannings broke their silence on the issue.

The book was the basis of the defamation lawsuit she filed against them, and had settled out of court. So yes, she had something actionable from that book (which came out 16 years ago), she acted on it, got some money in a settlement, and we can safely assume the terms of that settlement were that no one could talk about it any further.

Manning actually did talk about it a couple years later in an ESPN interview, and I believe she filed suit again and they settled again.
